  • Cook fondue, pizza, soft pretzels, rice krispie treats or anything else that's available to make from scratch.
  • Be tourists in your (or a) local town. Google your destination and find tourist attractions that neither of you have done before. Bring along a disposable camera and ask strangers to take pictures of you.
  • Dress up to the nines and browse open houses in fancy towns or test drive pretty new expensive cars.
  • Browse farmer's markets or craft vendor sales before closing time and try to make bargains.
  • Buy a cheap basket at a thrift store then, on a nice day, load the basket with sandwiches, cupcakes and lemonade. Find a perfect spot in a park and have a picnic. (or pack strawberries & grapes, cheese & crackers, sandwiches, a little bottle of apple cider and plastic champagne glasses).
  • Dress in proper attire and go for on a hike.
  • See animals at the zoo. Check your city's website for 'free days' that museums and zoos have.
  • Visit the puppies and kitties at the animal shelter or store.
  • Camp indoors. Set up a tent next to the fireplace, along with 2 sleeping bags. Roast marshmallows and make s'mores while telling each other ghost stories.
  • In October, go to a pumpkin patch and find 2 wonderful pumpkins. Carve them together and make pumpkin pie!
  • By candlelight, read each other poems or short stories. Drink sparkling apple cider in champagne glasses.
  • Go bowling, play billiards, darts, ping pong, or go ice skating.
  • Find a diner and share a malt (or a banana split.)
  • Put together a puzzle or play a board game (might I suggest 'Disney Scene It?' and Sequence.)
  • Learn how to make a kite with basic around-the-house items, then on a windy day...go fly it.
  • Go play B.I.N.G.O with the old folks or hit up a casino and score some free soda and hot chocolate!
  • Go pick fruits. (apples, berries, yada yada yada.)
  • Bring out stale bread and feed the ducks at a pond.
  • Go to a playground in the fall or winter when children are at school. Swing on swings and slide down slides.
  • Play hide and seek.
  • Go to the arcade and play skee ball.
  • Play mini-golf, ride go karts, go to a water park.
  • Build a most excellent sandcastle together.
  • Do a craft project; finger paint, origami, paper planes.
  • Go to a class. Some classes have a 'first one is free' or a fairly cheap deal. So, take use of that.
  • Volunteer!
  • Hold a day where you trade off and do things that you've never done.
