- Getting to cook a huge meal
- Getting compliments on said huge meal
- Actually sitting down like a family to eat (for the only time a year)
- Green bean casserole!
- My famous pumpkin bread!
- Watching my brother-in-law drink a whole bottle of cold duck (blechh)
- Making somebody else wash all the dishes because they feel sorry for me because I did all the cooking
- Having an excuse to just lounge around on the couch like a lump after eating without feeling like I need to be productive
- Having an excuse to wear an apron and kerchief and feel like a peasant
