How he changes in the ninjaverse with his mom being alive.
- I'm still not sure if I want to keep his mom alive in that universe or not. It's still possible to kill her off and it would keep his character basically intact (with minor differences). However, let's say I do keep her alive. Firstly, his relationship with his father would be much better. He'd also have a lot more emotional stability. (Though he would have a little more than he has in the hs au anyway even if she were dead, because the line of work they are in in the ninjaverse is something Sora would be able to take part in. He would be around his family more often.) One of the biggest changes between the ninjaverse and the hs au, and this holds true even if his mother is dead or not, is that Sora KNOWS he wants to be a ninja long term. That is his passion. He didn't choose it because he fell into it like with Fuume's band. He chose it because he genuinely wants to be a ninja and thinks it looks cool. And regardless of if his mother is alive or not, his reason for wanting to be a ninja is a result of her having had kunoichi training before marrying his father. There would still be some strife between him and his father in this universe, though there would be much less strife if she were alive. This is mainly because his father didn't have a choice with whether or not he wanted to be a merchant (much like Sousuke). In addition to that jealousy, he also wants as much help as he can get because traveling long distances with wares takes a lot of work. The fact that Sora would rather do other things is a point of contention.
-
Remind me to talk about Sora's family in more detail, because all three brothers have freedom in the hs au, whereas in the ninjaverse only Sousuke is bound, without choice, by their family debt.
Goals as a ninja
- Sora just loves to learn and to grow. He doesn't have any plans to be the greatest ninja or anything like that. He wants to learn as much as he can. There are things he knows ninjas can do that he wants to try, and he doesn't really care to get very skilled in every area. For instance, he'd like to try explosives at some point, but the only skill he's really building is summoning. This is mainly because it is what he most excels in, and while he'd like to just do whatever, he is also aware of what his duties are as a ninja. In order to accomplish those duties he must be skilled enough to hold his own, and summoning is his way of holding his own. Imagine Sora as a ninja jack of all trades with a lot of different skills but doesn't excel in in any aside from the basics (hand-to-hand, tool usage, etc) and summoning.
Feelings on Seiya being more successful in obtaining goals
- Ninjaverse answer: Sora has a great deal of respect for ninjas, and a great deal of respect for people who are more skilled in certain areas than he is. Again, he's not trying to be the best, so Seiya's success won't bring him any sort of jealous feelings. He might be a little envious that he can do so much, but it would the sort of envy everyone gets from time to time. Rather than let that envy consume him (like Kazumi), he's content to just watch Seiya do his thing and ask for pointers and cheer him on. (In both universes, Sora has a great deal of respect and admiration for Seiya.) The biggest thing about Sora to remember in the ninjaverse is that his life and actions are marked by a distinct presence of direction that he does not have in the hs au. Normalverse answer: Like in the ninjaverse, Sora is a jack-of-all-trades and likes to learn a lot of different skills. Unlike in the ninjaverse, however, this is partially a result of natural interest and partially a result for having no future plans. His biggest insecurity is planning for the future and what the future holds for him. He's afraid to make concrete plans, because he's afraid of them being changed on him and being forced to abandon his dreams. As a result, Sora has a bit of jealousy in regards to Seiya that he doesn't have in the ninjaverse. Mainly, he's jealous that Seiya has a plan and is working towards it. He's not jealous that Seiya is flourishing, he's jealous that Seiya is ABLE to flourish. And in the future once he's out of high school and he's working two jobs trying to swing an apartment, there's bound to be a bit of hurt feelings. But his actions will never turn on Seiya in the same way Kazumi did (though he might indirectly start affecting Seiya bc that's bound to happen). In the future when he sees how well Seiya and Fuume and everyone else is doing, he's going to feel like SHIT that he doesn't seem to have any passions that are his own that he can work towards. He dealt a lot with these feelings in middle school (having no future because of the yakuza situation) and as a result acted out and tried to just drown it all in sex. It was through his conversations with Fuume that he really started to realize there was something going on that he needed help with. So when he went into high school he had every intention of turning things around...without realizing that he was only tackling the surface issues (rather than finding a passion of his own he goes along with Fuume's, for instance) and creating an illusion of fixing things. He's probably going to sink to a dark place eventually after school, but he's not going to be vocal about it until it gets too much for him to handle. Basically: ninjaverse Sora is happy and well-adjusted and normalverse Sora needs therapy.
HS AU: grown up job
- Sora has no plan for the future. He has no idea what he wants to do, and as a result misses the window that is basically allowed in Japan for someone to assure themselves a good job. He's not going to go to a university because 1) his grandparents and father can't afford it and 2) he never worked during high school to assure him some sort of scholarship or financial aid. Without a degree, he's going to pretty much be stuck with odd jobs and jobs outside of the typical job fair where a decent amount of money is guaranteed. He's probably going to work at a convenience store, or at a restaurant, or in various jobs where not a lot of academic skill is required. He's going to have multiple jobs because he can't afford otherwise, and unlike Fuume who will be dealing with the crap to help afford luxuries to fund his growing band, he's not going to have a purpose.
Compromises in relationship
- Requires a lot of questions of my own in regards to Seiya so we'll get to that eventually.
Fears or insecurities about his relationship with Seiya.
- There's a part of himself that worries that eventually things will grow stale with Seiya and Seiya will stop being passionately for their relationship, but that's mainly because part of him is scared to pull his weight in fighting for them. He does have an insecurity, though. He's not sure if Seiya will want to stay with him forever given all of the mess with the yakuza. He also worries someone hotter than him who can cook will steal Seiya away. That's the only worry that carries over to the ninjaverse. In the ninjaverse, though, he's terrified that one day he'll say something and Seiya will start the countdown if they get into a fight or something.
"Childish" traits like refusing to eat avocado bc it's slimy, emotional immaturity, etc
- He doesn't like green peppers at all and won't eat anything with them in them. He also probably also teases the guys in his friend group a lot. He also likes dick jokes a lot.
Fun date night
- His ideal date includes shopping. He loves shopping and browsing for things to buy. He'd love to see a movie, too, and then possibly eat burgers and chill out playing video games at home later. He likes being out in public for dates, but it makes it difficult to be physically affectionate what with Seiya being a boy and all, so they'd probably go to Ni-Chome a lot and either dance or eat at a restaurant. He'd definitely be down for cuddling afterwards.
How he deals with fanboys/girls after dating Seiya (his and Seiya's)
- He'd get miffed a lot watching Seiya get a lot of attention. Not because he's afraid Seiya will stray, but he envies girls being able to just be all over him. So he'd probably try his best to put up with it and busy himself with his own fangirls.
His travels abroad and if he'd like to travel again when older
- Ninjaverse: He basically lived on the road almost exclusively. He'd be back in Suna more often, though. He didn't really live in any villages other than Suna, but they'd stay there for a week before the next journey. He wants to be a ninja, so he wants to travel a lot and meet all sorts of people. Normalverse: He lived in China for a while, so he knows basic Mandarin, but he couldn't communicate easily there, so he didn't like it. Also because he lived in various other places in Japan, he knows a LOT of dialects from other places and uses it interchangeably. This makes it weird to talk to him sometimes, especially if you don't know various words in other dialects that he replaces. As for whether he'd like to travel or not, that's really up in the air. He'd love to go back and visit some places for nostalgia's sake, but I don't know how he'd feel about living in a lot of different places again. He'd definitely want to take Seiya on vacation to various places eventually. He probably has a huge list of places he wants to see again or otherwise, and probably has asked Seiya what sort of places he'd like to visit so he can store it away for later and match up with his own plans.
Any complexes about not being the major bread winner in the relationship in the future
- I believe I answered a good deal of this in the goals section. There's not a lot I can add onto it. I can say that whether Seiya makes more than him or not isn't one thing that would make him insecure. If anything, he probably believes Seiya deserves it more than he does. He probably has a complex about his difficulty reading and the difficulties in school and with grades as a result. He probably thinks higher of Seiya than himself in those areas.
Relationship with Taka and Chise and his sensei
- Taka: Taka loves to talk and Sora does, too. He loves listening to everything Taka has to say and genuinely likes him as a person and a ninja. He probably likes picking up tricks from Taka and passing on information with him as well. Because Taka is younger than him, it makes him feel like a kid again, and he probably enjoys it. Chise: He begrudgingly puts up with her and feels she has a lot of growing to do. Still, he willingly listens to her without complaint if she has information to pass on that he doesn't know and if he thinks her plans are good. He is very outspoken with her about her worse plans and butts heads with her a lot as a result. She also rubs him the wrong way. Hijiri: He has a lot of respect for his sensei, especially with his sensei being younger than usual. They pal around and talk to each other a lot, but they don't really have a lot in common. Because of that all they normally talk about is different skills and such that Sora doesn't know. He does more listening to Hijiri than shooting the shit.
Why he stays with Seiya
- He desperately wants to be around Seiya. I want to say he likes his relationship with Seiya because it's easy, but it's not that the relationship itself is easy but because he feels very relaxed with Seiya. Seiya doesn't pressure him or beg for attention the same way Kazumi did, so in a lot of ways it feels like his relationship with Fuume did. It feels very loose because Seiya does most of the work pushing for the relationship. And it's not that Sora doesn't work for it or push for the relationship, but because Seiya is so concerned with being wanted by Sora he feels more secure that he himself is wanted. (This is true for all of his relationships in the past, but with Seiya it /feels/ different because he actually loves him in return.) And yes, this is a huge problem that Sora is not aware of because it's all a result of Seiya's insecurities. It's definitely something that might become a problem if neither of them talk about it. Moving on from that, he loves everything about Seiya. He loves the way his eyelashes brush against his cheeks when he blinks, and how his hair frames his face, and his laugh, and the way he not-so-shyly begs for attention and reaches for his hand. He likes that he's not pressured to have sex all the time, especially, and that Seiya is always up for cuddling and telling him how much he loves him. His relationship with Seiya is probably the only relationship he's had where he's actually admitted his feelings without doing it solely to keep the other party from feeling bad. And he has so much respect for Seiya as a person and as a friend. He's totally crazy about him.
Driving? Would he be interested in driving?
- Yes, but mainly because it would mean that he and Seiya could go on a vacation with ease without having to pay for train fees and having to lug their bags halfway across town to the onsen/hotel/resort from the bus station.
Family's feelings about the last ninja war.
- For the most part, his family wasn't involved. And none of his family fought in the war, either. The worst is that it made business bad for them. I still don't know too much about the last ninja war, but I imagine his family doesn't like getting involved in politics at all given their history.
Does anyone object to Sora becoming a ninja?
- His father is a little miffed that he doesn't want to help the family business, but that has everything to do with wanting more help. He does, however, see the use in Sora becoming a ninja and learning defensive skills for their shipping of goods across country borders.
Where does he get his summons? Who got his first and what was it?
- He collects them from here and there. Various people have left imprints on his life and taught him different things. But when he was younger and they were traveling from Suna to other nations, in the desert when they stopped to rest, he got out and came across a small coyote that could talk. He wasn't aware of summoning at that point, but the coyote took a liking to him and offered his services whenever Sora was in trouble. It wasn't so much a contract so much as a friendship agreement. He didn't really know what to do with it for the longest time until he learned about summoning and went back to get it in writing. And since then he's been able to summon little coyotes. For the most part he makes his own for his tools and things, but when it comes to large things he usually gets help from people in the village who are good at it.
What would motivate him to have a dream in the HS AU? Midlife crisis required for them?
- I don't think there's anything that would motivate him to have a dream. That's something that either happens or it doesn't happen. Sometimes life is like that. You don't have any idea what you want to do but you manage to find something to do just from being around long enough and landing yourself in a spot that becomes a good fit. Because he loves listening to people and loves to hear about people, I imagine he would eventually get a job in social welfare.
Maki had a thing for Seiya a while back, how does he react?
- He wouldn't care. It has no bearing on things now. He would probably feel bad for Maki, wondering if they ever got to confess their feelings.
Would he be okay if he had to work for the yakuza?
- He'd survive. But he would probably not be psychologically stable at all, because it is his nightmare, tbh. The idea of being shackled to something solely because of his father's bad habits kills him.
Any close calls with Sougo or Sousuke in their line of work? (finding out, close calls for them, worrying they're dead etc)
- Not so much with Sougo, and because Sousuke and his father really only deal with body disposal as the worst part of the job, the biggest close calls would involve incarceration.
Is he critical of his brothers getting close to people bc of yakuza?
- For the most part, no. But this is mainly because the only brother that has any interaction with women is Sougo, and Sougo is clearly not about forming any long-term attachments. Sousuke is the one who's the most critical out of all of them, and for this reason does not date or talk to girls at all with the thought, "after all this is over, maybe," in the back of his mind. Sora would be slightly critical but also very happy if either one of them were to form a serious relationship with someone. But he'd mainly just convince his brother to stop with the involvement with the yakuza if he's able to. Sougo's still able to get out, but Sousuke is unfortunately in too deep.
What is his "white picket fence" scenario in both universes. Ideal future.
- Ninjaverse: Be a kickass ninja. That's about it. That's all he has planned out. If it's after his relationship with Seiya, then working alongside Seiya as ninja partners is definitely in the picture.
Normalverse: His white picket fence scenario is living with Seiya and owning like three dogs and possibly getting popular on vine or youtube by filming them all the time, hopefully while having a steady job that pays enough for him to live comfortably and help pay off his dad's debt. Ideally, it also involves Sougo and Sousuke getting out of the yakuza line of work.
What are his phobias and what are his feelings about Seiya's occasional dress wearing.
- His biggest phobia is working for something passionately only for it to be taken away from him, so while he puts a lot of effort into his relationship with Seiya, there's always a part of him holding back for fear of heartbreak. The same is true for his jobs and such. (This doesn't hold true for ninjaverse, since he's a bit more balanced.) He's terrified that he'll work and work and eventually find out that the only/best course of action is to follow in his brothers' footsteps. As far as standard phobias, though, his only real fear is roaches, and that's purely a normalverse phobia only. As for Seiya wearing dresses, he'd grow accustomed to it, but don't count on him ever understanding it. There would probably eventually come enthusiastic support if they've been together for a long time, and he'd enjoy kissing his legs and running his hands up Seiya's thighs while he's wearing dresses. *coughcough* I mean, he tolerates it.
Would he consider moving in with Yuuya and Seiya after he graduates high school?
- He would probably still live with his grandparents, to be honest. They're fine with him living with them. But I do think he'd want to be close to Seiya, so he'd move in with Yuuya eventually if Yuuya is fine with him living there while Seiya is in college. However, he wouldn't be fine with living there for longer than maybe a year. He stubbornly wants to prove that he can live without making his father's mistakes, so he'd want to live on his own and float his own place. He might live with Fuume as a roommate for a while, even.
What would happen if he were to reconnect with somebody he befriended from abroad (not someone he slept with)?
- He'd talk to them and hang out with them, it'd be like any other friendship. It depends on how well they're able to stay in touch, really.
What if, while on a date with Seiya, he happened to run into somebody he slept with? Would his reaction be different if he ran into that person while out with his friends? What if it was just him and Fuume who ran into that person?
If he had to be separated from Seiya for a significant amount of time (because of work/school/a mission; upwards of six months) would that be pretty much the end of their relationship?
- It depends on how far into the relationship they are. He was really hesitant about having a long distance relationship with Fuume to begin with because of his complex feelings surrounding heartbreak and other things, and that's why he never tried to reach out. But if he was already in a relationship with Seiya, he'd definitely try to make it work. It'd suck, but it would suck more for Seiya to leave him behind. Of course, he has a tendency to let it fall apart thinking it's easier that way, so Seiya would definitely have to kick him in the pants a couple of times at first, but they'd make it work.
Is he a vengeful person? Like what would he do if somebody hurt someone he cared about really bad?
- He'd hold a grudge and never let that other person live it down. He's not incredibly vengeful, however. He might laugh when bad things happen to someone on his shit list, though. He just doesn't see it as a big enough issue to actively seek out vengeance. It's different in the moment when he's pissed off, though. He's probably come close to hurting Kazumi before when the bullying was going on, but. Even that never really went anywhere.
What is his typing/texting style like? Does he use a lot of emoji?
- His typing style is probably incredibly simple given his difficulties with reading, so it's probably almost exclusively in hiragana with basic kanji (or any kanji he's picked up that day) sprinkled throughout. But I don't see him using emoji. Like maybe very rarely he'd use a cute face. But it would normally be something like "Got full marks on my test today. Happy!" and then like if Seiya or Fuume were in a bad mood he'd be like, "Cheer up I want to see you smile! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ"
What does he do when he can't sleep in the middle of the night?
- Masturbate while thinking about Seiya, to be honest. He doesn't have a lot of sleepless nights that aren't self-induced because of games/concerts/hobbies. But if he's particularly stressed, he'd probably masturbate until he calms down and falls asleep. Because he's a gross teenage boy.
How upright is he? Like if he found a wallet would he turn it in?
- If there was an ID, he'd turn it in. In middle school he would keep the money even if there was an ID in it. After high school, once he works two jobs, he'd definitely try to find the owner even if there wasn't an ID in it.
What sports would he be interested in if any?
Does he believe in prophecies?
- Somewhat. Depends on the type of prophecy.
Has he ever said "I love you" out loud to Seiya in either universe?
- Yes. After about six months to a year of dating. In Japanese there's the standard "suki" which he probably says from time to time. Then there's the step up from that which he would say a year into their relationship. And then there's the final "i love you (and want to be with you, marriage-wise)" that he wouldn't say until Seiya dragged it out of him. When he says the first two the first time, he instinctively laughs somewhat shyly afterwards in a way to laugh them off if the need arises, even though the need will never arise. The final one would have no laughter after it, and he'd probably wrap his arms around him in a tight hug and murmur it into his hair.
Any pet names for Seiya? What about nicknames for his friends and family?
- Sora's not one for doing cute nicknames, though he has used "chan" on most of his girlfriends or female friends in the past. He tends to use given names+suffix for people he's fond of, so I imagine for Seiya he'd call him by his first name without suffix. So: (meeting) Hatsuda-san/kun --> (friends) Seiya-kun --> (boyfriends) Seiya. For Sougo, it's Nii-chan or Aniki. For Sousuke it's Aniki. For his dad it's Otou-san. Toshi probably gets a cute nickname, such as Shihan or To-chan. For Fuume, it's definitely Fuu-chan or his stage name.
Would be take a job offered by Kazumi to be his personal assistant in the future if it offered good pay and benefits?
- Yes. Without a doubt. If it means making a lot of money to live comfortably, he'd do it.
Was Sora a wanted baby or an oops?
- Sougo and Sora were accidents, but their parents were very excited about having them. They decided to not try for kids and see what comes up after they managed to get an heir, and his dad especially was excited. His dad would never admit it, but he was hoping for a girl both times.
How he operates under pressure in a super tough fight.
If he and his dad ever work something out
Feelings about Seiya's family (both universes) including size or intense gazes at him and Seiya's family being OP
Allergic to things, anything with bad memories associated with them?
- Ninjaverse: Sora benefited from living in so many different areas as a kid and getting exposed to different allergens. He has no allergies. And he doesn't have a lot of bad memories. Other than the tension between his father and oldest brother, he's had a happy childhood. Lots of running around with strangers and making friends.
- Normalverse: Sora doesn't have any allergies. For the longest time the phone Fuume bought him had a lot of bad memories and he refused to use it or even look at it for almost six months until his feelings for Fuume went away.
What class is his family exactly? In both universes, where does the money go?
- Ninjaverse: This is tricky. As merchants they don't get to keep the majority of their money. And like most residents in Suna, they would count as below the poverty line, however because they travel around to different countries all the time they actually enjoy a wider berth of resources and experiences. So... can you really say they live like poor people when their lives are arguably better than the people from their village? Technically they are basically lower class, though.
- Normalverse: Sora's grandparents have a decent amount of money. They're middle class. So Sora benefits from that. His dad and brothers are in a weird position where they benefit from the yakuza lifestyle but aren't able to keep the majority of their money. They can basically keep enough money to own a place and maybe eat a little, but that's about it. The rest goes towards paying off their debt. So they're in this weird space between poverty and luxury where they have friends in high places and gain from being in that social circle but don't share in any of it.
Why is his family in debt?
- I DON'T KNOOWWWWWWWWWWWW WE WILL NEVER KNOWWWWWW THEY JUST ARE
Who would he seek out for summon practice? Who does he feel is safest for practice?
How does he feel about missing out on possibly traumatic experience everyone else had? (Personal timeline of events)
What is his favorite pokemon?
What does he think about his various friend's family situations?
How well would he take finding out about Seiya's bloodline limit; experiencing it for the first time; finding that Seiya has forgotten about him completely?
What was his reaction the first time Seiya told him suki/koishiteru/aishteru?
- ok so you're going to get drastically different answers in the different universes bc of sora's hang-ups being greater in the hs au so
- Ninjaverse: suki - sora laughs and accepts his feelings; koishiteru - sora laughs and says it back; aishiteru - sora kisses him and says it back
- Normalverse: suki - i imagine sora kissed seiya before he had time to confess, so he'd accept his feelings and say "me too"; koishiteru - depending on how long they were together sora would be able to say it back easily; aishiteru - sora would pull an andy and be like COOL MAN and just avoid seiya for as long as physically possible until getting it dragged out of him and him admitting he's scared
