Were they excited to be shinobi or did that just seem like the most logical step/were they pushed into it?

  • Very much pushed into it by their family's pressure. Tetsuo enjoys it more than Masao, though. They both find it fun, but working out and improving feels like a chore to Masao, who really only wants to do it because he gets to spend time with Tetsuo. It's one of the reasons Masao winds up becoming a nurse. He still has it set so that if there's a particularly tricky mission, he's able to go with his brother. So he'd keep working out and he and Tetsuo would have set times to practice together to keep it up, but Masao isn't super into being a ninja.

Which of the two were more trouble as babbies?

  • Tetsuo. Masao was an annoying baby, but he wasn't a pain to deal with. Tetsuo was fussy and finicky and got stomach problems a lot.

What are the more complex feelings they have towards their father?

  • While they both wish they could have known him, their mother doesn't make them feel as if they're missing out. She moved through her grief before they were old enough to really understand things. Masao always has this idea that Tetsuo is their mom's favorite because he's more like their dad (at least from what he hears), and thus has a bit of resentment towards him. But Tetsuo desperately wants to know what he was like because so much of him is counted on by the family. The only one that makes things awkward is their uncle, who looks at them and is reminded of the brother he lost. He's normally fine when they're just visiting, but if they ever have to stay with him for a while for whatever reason, they wind up having to deal with his drinking. (He's just a cynical drunk, though, so it's not that bad.)

Do they trust their clan? Their village?

  • For the most part, yes. Masao himself is not really tied to Konoha in anyway other than nostalgia and having been born there, but Tetsuo very much believes in the village. He believes that all of that stuff is in the past and that the village is improving and is in good hands with Naruto. Now, he might have issues with government as a whole due to the organization and running into all of that mess and seeing how people were affected by the system, but he's of the belief that the system can be changed into something good and be freed of corruption. As for their clan, Masao is very much not bound by clan loyalty. Being an outsider, he definitely feels the brunt of the obsession with twins and with producing twins. Now, he doesn't have the understanding as a child that he would as an adult. For instance, Anko, who is a single child, would definitely be looked down upon by their family if they were to befriend her, and he wouldn't be able to properly convey how problematic that is until he's grown and has stepped outside of himself. Tetsuo, on the other hand, has a lot of complicated feelings about it. On one hand he sees why it's such a big deal, but on the other he doesn't connect with that sentiment emotionally. So he might repeat anti-frat/single sentiments without actually meaning them deep down. This would of course change in knowing Anko and in having kids who aren't twins.

Will Tetsuo ever accept Kazumi's bishoujo feelings?

  • Yes. Tetsuo has a lot of complicaated feelings about Kazumi. Mainly because he got the impression that Kazumi was fake when they first started dating, so he really thinks Kazumi is way out of Masao's league and is just toying with him. At first. Eventually he realized Kazumi was serious about the relationship, but Kazumi is kind of flamboyant and arrogant. Which isn't too bad, he has a healthy dose of respect for his confidence. But it also rubs him the wrong way. If he takes the time to see Kazumi as more than just "hahaha look at me im so hot", he'll be sure to accept his feelings. (Basically, all he needs to see is one of Kazumi's insecurities and he'll be able to see him as a complex individual instead of a caricature of a person.)

Would they ever consider leaving the village?

  • Masao feels no strong ties to Konoha. He'd mainly want to stay for his brother. Tetsuo, however, feels very strongly about it mainly because of clan loyalty.

Could something ever push them into renouncing their clan name?

  • Masao is on the fringe of their clan in many respects. And as such he feels stubbornly obligated to keep his clan name no matter what. It is a source of pride for him, not because he has a clan, but that he hasn't allowed what his family says affect him. Tetsuo, on the other hand, has a lot of different issues with the clan and eventually grows to see that as he gets older and starts having kids and seeing how his grandparents treat his children. I think he could have a breaking point, but I don't think he'd renounce the clan name, just his extended family's involvement in his life.

When fighting as a pair is there any danger of them staying permanently fused?

  • Not really. They can choose to unfuse if they want to and if they need to. The only real thing regarding the fusion is that they lose their sense of self the longer they are fused. So for a while afterwards they might mimic each other's movements and might act somewhat differently and more like the fused self for a while. Also long term, they will start to share attributes of each other. So, say, Tetsuo doesn't like sugar and Masao prefers sweet things. Fifty years down the line, Tetsuo might find he's pretty agreeable to sugar and Masao might find that he is fine with eating bitter foods.

Do they dabble in things outside their comfort zone?

  • Masao's comfort zone is a strange place, because he genuinely doesn't have a lot of things that make him uncomfortable. The closest thing to that would be either having to pretend to be straight (which he doesn't do in the first place), or having to act on his best behavior at family functions. Tetsuo is the one that does it the most. He is not a social person by nature, so when there are family functions, because he is the oldest and the one his family is rooting for in terms of producing an heir, he gets thrown into the frying pan. Social things are very much outside his comfort zone, but he dabbles in them with a sense of duty. If he does it too long without a break, though, he gets INCREDIBLY irritable.

Are they comfortable in the more peaceful world Naruto has built or do they ever wish things could be like before even for a second?

  • Both are pretty happy with things the way they are. Masao might, but only because he's already dissatisfied with being a ninja and thinks he might like it more if it were back before.

What is their one "addiction"?

  • I don't think they have one. For Masao I imagine sex would be an addiction, but he wouldn't let it affect his life enough to be classified as one. Tetsuo, however, gets absorbed in himself and in his work too easily, so I guess that's the closest thing he has.

If they woke up one morning and no longer looked alike how would they react?

  • Tetsuo would be excited, Masao would have no opinion. (He's actually really upset, okay, that was their THING.)

For that matter, if someone offered them the chance to look different from each other would one of them take it?

  • Tetsuo would take it, Masao would not. Tetsuo would also find himself regretting it afterwards because he wouldn't feel like himself anymore.

Which village would they feel safest at if they had to flee from Konoha for some reason?

  • Probably Suna, since Konoha and Suna are on pretty okay terms. Or the Grass Village, since it's the most like their home landscape-wise.

Do they ever talk out their problems with each other?

  • Yes and no. In the ninjaverse, they basically drift and share memories, so they always tend to know what's going on with each other. They don't get all emotional and vocalize a lot of it; they tend to just do things to cheer each other up and let them know they care. Masao is more talkative about it than Tetsuo is, but he never gets too emotional, either. In the hs au, they still don't really TALK talk, but they do get into fights and have to come to an understanding. They know each other very well, at least Tetsuo knows what's up with Masao pretty easily. Masao probably has a lot of difficulty with Tetsuo and a lot of frustration with trying to figure out if things are okay, but the good news is he's direct (albeit in an aggressive and obnoxious way) and Tetsuo doesn't dodge questions when asked. He's just as likely to be upfront with you about it as Masao is, he just won't go out of his way to say it first.

Are their morning routines synchronized or do they just bump into each other all morning?

  • Tetsuo has a set routine he follows to the letter, and Masao tends to wake up after he's done, so they never run into the problem where they bump into each other.

Would they answer the same if asked which of the two was more well liked?

  • Yes. It's Tetsuo.

Do either of them have any artistic talent?

  • No. I think I mentioned it in their other surveys, but Masao can't draw anything, and Tetsuo is really only good at drawing various insects for research and documentary purposes. He doesn't really draw them for fun.

What are their feelings towards twincest works?

  • I hesitate on this one because every person I've seen who is a twin has been outspokenly against them. However, I really feel Masao would be totally cool with them. He's not one for reading fan smut in the first place, so he wouldn't be exposed to it, and unless he visually saw them looking similar, he would be able to compartmentalize it relatively easily. (If he reads twincest smut that doesn't emphasize the similarities and keeps pointing them out as twins, he can read it just fine.) Tetsuo, on the other hand, is really not into reading any kind of smut of any kind and is strongly opposed to twincest as a concept. He is a bit less able to compartmentalize it.

How often had they had near telepathic moments or like shared dreams etc?

  • In the high school au, I imagine this is how I'd have their clan abilities manifest, so somewhat frequently. They wouldn't be telepathic, but they'd know each other well enough to finish each other's sandwiches and understand when one is in pain even if they're just sitting there doing nothing. Shared dreams would probably happen more frequently when they were younger, but once puberty hits no one wants to be sharing dreams with Masao and I wouldn't subject Tetsuo to that.

Which of the two is most likely to go on a 4 day long Sims binge.

  • Tetsuo, actually. He's really good at budgeting his time, though, so he'd never sit down to play in the first place. But he would definitely be able to lose track of the time and get locked into it easily. Masao has a short attention span, so he'd get bored quickly.

How long could both of them convincingly pass for the other if they had to switch places before the were found out?

  • Not very long at all. Tetsuo would be found out immediately because he needs glasses and is more reticent. And Masao would last longer, but ultimately would be found out when people ask him why he's looking chubbier than normal or opens his mouth.

Did Shiori ever have a moment where like she accidentally mix them up as babies and then she was like FUCK WHICH ONE IS TETSUO AND WHICH ONE IS MASAO?

  • She probably did in the first week before she got used to how different they both were as babies. Masao was relatively easy to handle, while Tetsuo was really finicky and cried a lot. Tetsuo also grabbed for her fingers and hair and stuff a lot more than Masao did. Masao basically sat there being a good baby and spitting at her instead.

Who reached developmental milestones faster, did they switch off on milestones or did they both reach them at about the same time?

  • Tetsuo reached intellectual milestones a little faster than Masao, but Masao reached physical milestones a little faster. Masao also developed socially a lot faster than Tetsuo, though he also received the most backlash from it.

Did Masao ever come out to Tetsuo or was there just like...an unspoken understanding?

  • Masao was always sparkly-eyed about cute boys, even when he was a little boy. He was that toddler that liked hugging and kissing the cuties near him because that's what people do, but he would kiss boys and be like, "That boy is cute!" So there was never a moment where he "came out", it was always something really obvious to everyone around him.

Does Tetsuo ever wonder if he's possibly at least bisexual or is he very secure in being 100% straight?

  • Well, he's demi/demi, so he doesn't experience love or sexual inclinations often in the first place. But every person he's ever developed feelings for have been girls. I'm sure he wonders if he'd ever fall in love with a boy if the right one came along, but he wouldn't be upset about it. Either way, he's very happy with Ritsu, so the option is not really on the table.

Which would be a better driver of the two?

  • DEFINITELY Tetsuo. Although he'd be kind of a leadfoot. Masao would flat out be a leadfoot. And he'd change lanes without signaling completely out of the blue. But they can't drive in the hs au. There's too good of transportation and their mother luckily lives close enough that it's not that bad of a walk.

What would be their white picket fence scenario?

  • Masao: (hs au) Have a cute boyfriend and get married. His boyfriend makes/has enough money to live comfortably, and Masao works at a nice company and comes home every evening. They both make dinner together if they aren't too tired from work and watch movies and fuck. Also they have a dog. (ninjaverse) Have a cute boyfriend and get married. It's optional whether or not he's a ninja, but he wants to come home to his husband and make dinner together (his boyfriend cooks) and have a cute life together. Also they have a dog. Tetsuo: (hs au) He's a researcher in a nice lab and makes big bucks, comes home to a loving wife and kids. Goes out on Saturday nights with Masao and various other friends, has a bunch of alcohol and goes to sleep until the weekend is over. (ninjaverse) He's a bigshot ninja who comes home to a wife and kids when he's not on missions. When the kids are young children he gets a regular paying job until they're older and he can start going on missions again. He goes out drinking with Masao and crew often.

What is one food they won't touch?

  • Masao will eat anything, but prefers sweeter things. Tetsuo is somewhat finicky when it comes to spices, but has no problem eating anything. He tends to prefer darker, earthier meals and isn't fond of sugar.

What was the most dramatic thing both of them did as children in response to a fight they had with each other or their mom.

  • Once a year for five years when they were younger, Masao and his mom would get into a huge fight over being allowed to get a dog. (Usually around his birthday, as that was his one birthday wish from 6-11 years old.) She would, of course, explain that she is allergic and it will make her upset, and Masao would counter with "Well then I'll be upset and that's not fair!" This would end in Masao refusing to live with her. He would go stay with Uncle Tatsuya until it was his birthday and then he'd not be angry anymore (mainly because he loves being the birthday boy and getting presents even if they aren't dogs). Luckily Tatsuya wised up and wound up getting a dog the year Masao turned twelve and said that he could be Masao's "away-from-home" dog. This of course made Masao very happy, except he doesn't really bother to visit in order to see or talk to the dog. He pretty much forgets it's there until he visits and remembers, and then he gets super passionate for a week or so after all "THIS IS MY DOG"

Any pet names for Ritsu and Kazumi? What about nicknames for their friends and family?

  • Masao: For Ritsu, Mushi-chan (and later Ritchan); for Kazumi, it's just Kazumi, and sometimes Kazu-kun when he's being flirty and Kazumin when he's teasing him; for Tetsuo it's Nii-chan or Tetchan, NEVER Aniki that was something he used only when he was younger; for Kaori, it's Kaorin; for everyone else he calls by their first name (whether it's appropriate or not) and adds a -kun or -chan when he's teasing them or being playful.
  • Tetsuo: For Ritsu, it's Ritsu or Ritsu-chan, sometimes even RinRin when he's feeling particularly funny/playful; for Kazumi, it's a very pointed (and deliberate) Ban-kun, later Kazumi-san; for Kaori, it's also Kaorin and sometimes Kaori when he's being serious; for Masao, it's always Masao and he never refers to him in any way as his brother except when talking to other people; he's not one for cute nicknames and only reserves them for people he is especially fond of, such as Kaori or Ritsu. The two ladies of his life.

What did they take out of their experience with the organization?

  • Tetsuo probably harbored a lot of resentment for the government, but he's not really sure how to best go about doing anything about it, so he remains loyal in name only. Masao realizes that the only reason he is doing the ninja thing is because his mother and the clan expected it out of them, and he really only enjoyed it because of his brother. When it came to real, dangerous stuff, he wasn't fond of it. So he decides he wants to work in a hospital instead. So he can still be in with ninja society, but not in the thick of it.

If the other went missing for a week how would they react?

  • It definitely depends on how old they are. If they are kids, they would definitely know something was up right away. If they are older, however, Masao wouldn't think too much of it until the week was up. Tetsuo would definitely worry about it, because Masao makes a conscious effort to update him on his life as much as possible. Tetsuo would try to look for him. He wouldn't say anything about it, but he'd be incredibly worried and nervous and looking over his shoulder hoping Masao will show up and laugh it off as a joke.

We've established that Tetsuo has twins, would he take steps to stop the twin cycle so that they wouldn't fall into the same problems he and Masao did?

  • Tetsuo wouldn't have to worry about it too much. Not to knock male socialization inherently or anything, he wound up being socialized differently than he winds up socializing his kids. His mom socialized his brothers, but was a single mom so she couldn't devote a lot of time as she needed to to them. Yet, she taught them to always be forthcoming and upfront about things, which is why they are upfront with each other about things when they're kids. But there wasn't a lot of emotional depth in her talks, so while they express problems with each other, they don't discuss how it makes them feel personally. I imagine that with Ritsu having been raised with a billion sisters, they have that emotional depth that Tetsuo and Masao were lacking. With her also socializing her kids, and with their twins being girls and getting female socialization from everywhere as well, they'll be well off without Tetsuo's influence.

What is their school related nightmare?

  • Masao doesn't really have any. While he does have a lot of insecurities built up that he doesn't talk about as a result of not being able to make friends, because he has even just one friend, he feels secure at school. If Tetsuo were to transfer, though, he'd transfer. Tetsuo's nightmare definitely has to do with social life. If he were to start getting bullied, he'd want to transfer. He doesn't have much of a social life, but he is on the student council and interacts with people a lot, so if that were to suddenly turn sour, he'd want to try and run to a place where no one knows him and start over.
