Where did the two first meet? At school.

What was their first impression of their significant other? Kind of annoying and fake, but had super cute caterpillar eyebrows.

When did they realize they had feelings for their partner? When she made him laugh REALLY hard and he realized he didn't want to go home later one day when they were hanging out.

• Preferences

Hair colour? No preference.

Eye colour? No preference.

Glasses? No preference.

Piercings? No preference, though he'd probably be somewhat intimidated by someone with a lot of them.

Tattoos? Same as piercings.

Chest hair? Has never fallen for a guy, so he's not sure. Probably not.

Scars? Where? Probably the same as piercings and tattoos, gravitating towards preferring someone without them. He'd date someone with a lot of them, though.

Smart/not? Prefers people who can match him with intelligence, or at the very least don't need him teaching about things all the time.

• As a person, he is...

Sarcastic/not? Yes, frequently. Depends on the person, though. He tends to be horrible when it comes to Masao.

Humourous/not? Not really. He loves to laugh, though.

Possessive/not? Not really, but he gets jealous a little.

Patient/not? Extremely.

Affectionate/not? Surprisingly affectionate. He's not overtly affectionate in public or when other people are around (even if they are in different rooms), but he really enjoys hand holding and cuddling up next to people.

Protective/not? Somewhat. It depends on the person. If he thinks they can handle themselves, he won't be protective. He is with Ritsu a lot when it comes to super intimidating people.

Clingy/not? Not really, but he prefers to at least know what they've been up to during the day.

Expressive/not? Surprisingly expressive when it comes to romance and family. But only when speaking to someone directly. Other than that, he doesn't really react to things very strongly.

Talkative/quiet? Quiet.

Outgoing/shy? Super shy, but mostly just quiet.

Party animal/Stay at home kind? Stay at home.

Sporty/not? Nope.

Artistic/not? His mother doesn't have a single picture on her fridge because she could never tell what either of her kids were drawing growing up.

Practical or more of the dreamy type? Incredibly practical. If Ritsu were to get super romantic and start talking about their future, he'd probably shoot her down with "Well we can't know the future, so we shouldn't try to plan it."

• Skills:

Can they cook or bake? To a degree. When his mom had to work late, he usually stepped in to make him and his brother something.

Can they repair/fix things? Quite a lot. He wanted to learn to help his mom around the house, so he eagerly looked into it.

Can they dance? No.

Can they sing? No.

Can they draw? Surprisingly good at bug anatomy, but other than that they're just ugly scribbles.

Can they play any instrument? No.

Can they write well? Yes, but it's all clinical. Formal writing only.

Can they make people laugh? To a degree. Usually through perfect silences during punchlines of events around him.

What is their talent if they have found it? Very intelligent, good at studying and at writing formal papers and lab write ups, good at chess.

Are they good at science and math? Extremely.

Are they good at kissing? Probably. If he wasn't at first he'd stubbornly try to get better at it to please his partner. He's not used to being really bad at things (esp in the ninja au where he's very physical and active), so he tends to work hard to get better at them.

Are they an animal lover? Yes! Usually bugs, though. He likes quiet animals that don't really require attention.

Are they environmental-friendly? Yes.

Are they racist? No.

Are they a vegetarian? Nope.

Do they drink? Probably beer when he's older, possibly wines and the like. But party drinks are a hard pass.

Smoke? No, because that's unhealthy.

Curse? Surprisingly often. Futaba mama is super foul-mouthed, so her kids have picked up on that. He doesn't often, usually when he's referring to people who deserve it. (Masao)

Sleep around? NEVER.

Abuse drugs? Nope.

Are they hairy? Nah, neither he nor his brother have much body hair.

Are they neat/messy? Almost hospital levels of clean.

• Assorted Questions

Are they a romantic? Self-professed or closet? Very reserved and not super romantic. In fact, he'd probably be more affectionate with his kids than he would be with Ritsu.

Are they sentimental? Not really, since he lives in the present.

Would they buy their partner flowers? Yes, on special occasions.

Would they lavish their partner with gifts? Not really. His mom wasn't big on presents, but his grandparents were, and it was obvious who they preferred, so he has a chip in his shoulder on the present front.

Would they pay for meals/tickets/etc? I want to say he'd always pay and be the gentleman, but his mother is probably the best/worst model for a female figure, so he'd probably ask if she wanted to split the check.

Are they okay with confessing love in public? No. If he were to confess in public, it would probably end with him red-faced, stammering, and then suddenly dragging her off somewhere quieter.

Do they express love in words or actions? Actions, definitely. he is bad with words.

• Cons

Any habits to dislike? He is bad face-to-face when it comes to romance. Imagine a very quiet Sanae who grows bright red and has to cover his face before he makes his move. It would get easier the longer they were together, but he is TERRIBLE at expressing his emotions like that.

Parts of their appearance they believe to be unlikable? He could stand to be a little more muscular and "prince charming".

Flaws in character that would make relationships difficult? He might come across as stand-offish at times, especially if he needs time to himself, and he doesn't make these needs clear all the time. So sometimes he might be irritable without any indication as to why, but he just needs to be left alone. Someone who wants someone to be always talking about their partner and expressing love with words would not get their needs met, etc.

Relationship deal-breakers? If his partner hurt his friends or brother, that's about it. Also if they badmouthed his mother.
