- just a slowburn... russ has a onesided crush → they become friendly acquaintances → they become friends → they hang out → okay now they're A Thing.
- and over time they both learn the other are both weirdos in their own way LOL
- annie
- starting off, they don't know each other too much. mainly knows about annie from josephine (construction company owner who the roadcrew has a contract with).
- honestly when they meet russ doesn't even realise this is the same annie until much later.
