i like...

  • when the point size and typeface name are detailed in the front of the book (paper weight is a bonus)
  • when the book is set in a serif typeface
  • when parts in books are seperated by pages with titles and subtle illustrations
  • when novels are unexcpectedly sprinkled with illustrations
  • when the copy is surrounded by a generous amount of white space
  • when the folio numbers are accompnied by a tiny picture
  • when the title of the book runs as a header

i don't like...

  • when books are set in a sans serif typeface
  • when books are set over 11.5 -12pt
  • when the copy area takes over the page
