A man, bald and clad in a complex, detailed and layered blue toga, was a cosmic siren. His celestial form was much less decorated than his physical one: yellow and mostly see-through, like he was made out of thin air and had the rising sun lighting him up from behind. His tail was simple, the fluke bare of fins with the exception of his caudal one, which looked as if made of silk.

A demon, quite the aggressive woman, wanted to leave her heritage behind and become something better than the infernal spawn she was born as. The man took her in and began to teach her the ways of his kin, and she slowly but surely made progress. Even her body was changing to accomodate the new energy that was flowing through her: her black hair showed soft streaks of white, her greyed purple skin began taking a warmer color, and her ridged curly horns were starting to smooth.

They fell in love during their years together, their personalities fit eachother like puzzle pieces, their actions and gestures a perfect mirror of a well-oiled machine. But it didn't last.

Her love shifted from caring to controlling, from needy to desperate, and in the end her nature took over. Her teacher became her lover and then her prized possession, so much so, in fact, that she couldn't deal with knowing that if he outlived her, he could find someone else to talk to, to teach to. So she killed him.

In his final moments, the siren said to her that he knew that subverting one's true nature was an almost impossible task, and surely their love had sparked her possessive instincts, but he thought he could fix it. But he was not skilled enough, the thread he was walking on was too thin and fragile, he strained it too much and that was all it took to break all their work. But now, he told her, you learned my ways and you know the path you have to follow. Without me to keep you chained to your demonic instincts, you can freely walk the path you sought to follow. Forgive my selfishness and please, forget me.

She then began searching for the lonliest and brightest place to live, away from anyone that might lead her back to the darkness and into the shadows that she fought so hard to keep at bay.

It is said that she did find the place she was looking for: the very top of the tallest mountain the planet had to offer. No man can survive the journey there to find out if this tale is true, but people say that she still lives there to this day, meditating in the coldest snow and basking in the brightest sunlight, slowly but surely killing the deep infernal heat that her heritage left her.
