  • holding a child all the time only hurts them. and you.
  • dilute juice. it goes right through them.
    • prevents many diaper changes
  • pampers cruisers are the way to go
  • sippy cups should be chosen carefully.
    • finding one that doesn't leak is uber important
  • rice cereal & baby food = success
  • its ok to let them cry. eventually they will stop.
  • do NOT pat them to sleep. they get hooked and then can't sleep without it
  • pacifiers are a fantastic invention. just don't let them use it too long
  • shoes are overrated. they pull them off
  • time out is a powerful thing
  • goldfish/cheerios are great, easy snack ideas
  • if they fall...don't freak out. if they see you freak out then they're going to start crying
    • most of the time their first reaction is to cry even if they aren't actually hurt.
  • always carry tissues. runny noses are not fun
  • carry baby wipes everywhere. helps with:
    • spills
    • diaper changes
    • noses
    • wiping sticky hands
  • bouncers are a necessity.
  • swings are also pretty amazing
  • they put everything in their mouths so be prepared
  • naps are the most important thing EVER
  • keeping kids on a schedule not only helps you but it helps them too. they know what to expect and so do you
  • keeping toys and or books in the car is a great way to keep them entertained
  • arts and crafts are an easy activity that kids really enjoy
  • bibs should be carried with you at all times
  • when they sleep play music. that way they grow up being able to sleep through loud noises
    • when i was little my mom made sure it was absolutely quiet when i slept. that's probably why i'm such a light sleeper now.
