• Order boxes from U-Haul in advance
• Bubble Wrap! Bubble Wrap! Bubble Wrap!
• Extra Boxes!
• Packaging Tape
• Permanent Marker to mark boxes
• Trash bags

SMART PACKING RULES

• Clothes on hangers in trash bags - then directly into boxes
• Small bubble wrap for small dainty things
• Large bubble wrap for large items
• Small boxes for heavy things (canned food, books, dishes, glassware)
• Large boxes for light things (shoe boxes, bags of clothes, pillows, comforter)
  • With heavy things in large boxes, you risk breaking the box and they're hard to pick up
• Start packing decor items first, extra items like seasonal clothes, shoes, linens, towels
• Keep items that you'll need immediately separate - pjs, undergarments, laundry hamper, toiletries, towel, glasses & contacts, toilet paper, paper towels, pillows, scissors, cleaning products like laundry detergent and wipes,

ADVICE

• Start early
• Throw out/Donate unnecessary stuff
• Empty out drawers - furniture cannot be moved with items still in the drawers
• Don't underestimate how much stuff you actually have and how long it will take you to pack everything up

ASIDE FROM PACKING

• Change mailing address
  • with FINRA and 401K
  • Drivers license
  • Post office
  • On all official papers
• Call VERIZON that I'm moving and service to be switched to new location

THROUGH THE LAST WEEK

• Don't buy any groceries
• Clean out Fridge & Freezer
• Pack up Kitchen

• Food in fridge
