- Planning/booking things ahead saves you money $. Atleast 3 months in advance.
- Google Flights
- For hotel - Choose a centrally located hotel that provides easy access to your must-see attractions instead of wasting a lot of your precious vacation/sightseeing time and money commuting back and forth. Plus this way you can just run back to the hotel quickly mid-day if you ever need to.
- Wear the heaviest things on your person instead of adding that weight to your luggage.
- Study the map of the place - get the lay of the land. Know locations you want to go to and how far they are from your hotel. Research the different neighborhoods and what they’re known for.
- Always pack an extra pair of undergarments. Just in case.
- Pack a tote bag in case you have too much stuff returning and then you can pay extra to check in a bag coming back but not when going there.
- Pinterest. YouTube videos - vlogs. Online articles. City guides. Bloggers.
- Research flight times so you don’t waste extra vacation days traveling. For ex., not arriving at your destination at night so one whole day is lost vs. taking a red eye flight and reaching there early in the morning. Looking for direct flights vs. with multiple stops and layovers or, worst case scenario, overnight layover in an airport.
- Additionally, plan your flights to coordinate with hotel check-in time so that you don’t pay for most of the day without actually getting in until later. Get your money's worth!
- Things cost more at the airport. Major markups.
- Research the weather to pack accordingly.
- Travel light. Pack wisely.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
