- Luther Rice - b. 1783 - d. 1836; associated with the "Haystack Prayer Meeting"; originally Congregationalist: after becoming a Baptist he went back to America to break off from the Congs. and began raising support as a Baptist
- Adoniram Judson - b. 1788 - d. 1850; highly intelligent, graduated from university at the age of nineteen; influenced by Jacob Eames, turned God; after Eames' death Judson finally got saved
