malik and marik usually share a singular form. marik is a secondary personality state for malik, akin to having his own system. we have recently discovered that they can split from each other and take on two separate forms, but cannot physically move very far away from each other without causing instability. malik is a little more calm and easily flustered, whereas marik is much more violent and sexual. neither of them are good at math.
