Since time travel is not yet possible lets focus on how to make plane trips better.
- I can't stress this enough... Deodorant. learn it. live it. love it. no one likes to sit next to someone who is 'self marinated'
- Keep to yourself. No one wants to come off the plane knowing your entire life story.
- Be Quiet. When you feel that you absolutely MUST make that last minute call.. be aware no one else wants to hear your conversation.
- Be Efficient when boarding the plane. Put your luggage up and get in your seat as fast as possible so everyone else can board too.
- The seat in front of you is NOT a handle to use when you are getting up. The seat belongs to someone else and any time you grab it to help yourself up... you are shaking the person in front of you and no one likes that. Use your own seat for leverage.
- We all know the seats on some planes could be a little more roomy... we know that there isn't a lot of leg room... but please when you see someone walking down the isle toward you for the bathroom (or whatever) be courteous and move your leg or elbow out of the isle so they can pass.
- Bring a carry on that actually fits in the overhead compartment... Don't be that person that takes forever (see number 4) because you refuse to use luggage that is the proper size.
- Don't give people with children the evil eye when their baby cries. Babies cry.. it's what they do... No one is purposely trying to disrupt you or make the flight bad for you. one day when you have kids.. you won't want to be given the evil eye either.
- With that said... parents don't bring tons of toys on the plane for your kids... especially not ones that make lots of noise. bring something that can keep them occupied/behaved without making lots of noise and disturbing others.
- Dress appropriately. Don't wear clothes that aren't comfortable because you won't be comfortable and your fidgeting will disturb everyone else.
- Be smart, go to bed early, get plenty of sleep the night before your flight and arrive to the airport early so you can be calm when heading to the plane... it'll help your mood.
- If you don't need to recline your seat to be comfortable... don't. There isn't much space between the seats.. we all know this, and who wants to spend the entire flight with a stranger in their lap? I know I don't.
- Most people don't enjoy flying. Sure we all love the destinations (well most of us) however the getting there can be slightly less enjoyable. Try to remember that the flight is going to be what you make it. Be respectful to others and they will be respectful to you. Try to not let the small things bother you. We all pay for our tickets, we all want to get there as fast as possible and getting irritated at everything isn't going to make anything go faster.
