- 1st, 100 degrees inside greenhouse at 11:30, opened it up
first narcissus blooming
- 2nd, dug tomato/pepper trench in backyard, mixed in compost & peat moss
soaked bigger veggie seeds, sowed all early spring veggies (1st planting)2 in rain overnight, cold snap, greenhouse stood up well
- 3rd, 2 in snow overnight
- 4th, 50 degrees, sunny, 10 lbs grounds on compost and in trench
- 6th, 6 inches of snow
- 7th, 50 degrees, snow melted
20 degrees overnight, brought all new plants in except cabbages planted bunch onions and covered in mulch
- 10th, sprouts visible in early veggies
planted 2 red cabbage transplants in #3 bed potatoes rotting, cut off slips, set on soil and covered with mulch
- 14th, nearly 90 degrees, greenhouse hot. left open all day and night
- 15th, seems like radish sprouts withered, chillier day, so lettuce doing well?
- 16th, garden misted, covered again
- 17th, sporratic rain while garden covered, warmish then cool
- 20th, beet and carrot sprouts up, planted beans
- 22nd, dried out seedlings for plant sale, must
try again later, potatoes seem to be sprouting, cabbage aren't?
- 27th, beans sprouting, marigolds holding up, cabbage seedlings growing,
dug up cabbage seeds
- 28th, cold front, beans growing, watered
