• 1 lb okra, sliced in rounds
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 1/2 c flour
  • 1 can beer
  • 1/4 ts hot sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • oil

Mix dry ingredients, add beer for batter thinner than pancake batter. Toss okra in 1/2 c flour and dip in batter, then fry in oil until browned. Serves four.
