this montht's actually been kind of slow reading wise. i'm in this reading period where i'm basically just reading new stuff. i start with the first book of a series, trilogy or whatever and see what i'll be stoked about reading next.

  • Salme ved Reisens Slutt by Erik Fosnes Hansen. this book is beautifully written. we're introduced to four-five guys who played at rms titanic. super fascinating stories about interesting characters you start to care about. i really reccommend this book to anyone. it's amazing.
  • Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. i liked this book, but it didn't take me away. i find that i'm tired of the usual middle age fantasy setting. i want to see something new. it acutally kind of reminded me of a song of ice and fire series by george rr martin. it's a series i think, but i highly doubt i will be reading the rest of it.
  • The Wise Man's Fear by Patric Rothfuss. i've been looking forward to this one for about a year now and when i got it in the mail you can believe i was sort of stunned because of its immense size. almost a thousand pages. the sheer lenght of the book was actually one of its cons. there was too much talking instead of getting to the action. i wasn't really impressed at first. considered it to be a typical second book in a trilogy. but when i read a couple of reviews and discovered a couple of brilliant things i had missed, i'm afraid i'll have to change my previous impression.
  • Bright of the Sky by Kay Kenyon. this is the first book in the Entire and the Rose series and the first ever sci-fi book i've read. and i have to say i really really liked. liked it so much in fact that i just ordered book nr2 in the series. which is a good thing, cause i'm getting a little fed up with starting reading book series and not falling completely for something. i want to be blown away by the first page. hell, i wanna be impressed by a good cover! and needless to say, bright of the sky was nothing short of amazing. kenyon has created an utterly fascinating world and an orignial plot and interesting characters. anything you have to ask for, basically. and really really good writing. i'm looking very much forward to the next installment in this series!

i'm also listening to Ikke Forlat Meg by Stig Sæterbakken on audio, but i'm really into the TV show Heroes at the moment, so in anticipation of the next books i'll be getting in the mail, i'm preffering heroes to audio books.
