sooo... turns out i managed to read five books out january and the month isn't even finished. i'm pretty proud of myself AND for sticking to my reading list. dicipline, ladies and gentlemen, karina the enchantress has it! and now to the verdict:

  • Mistborn book one by Brandon Sanderson. i loved this one. the world fascinated me utterly and the magic system was brilliant. the characters and plot were also fantastic and there was never a dull moment! and i love the unexpectedness that this book had tons of.
  • Well of Ascenscion, Mistborn Book two by Brandon Sanderson. not as good as the first, but it was definitely interesting and a necessary book. however, i did think there was a little too much talk and not getting down to the action. but it was still a very good book!
  • Changeless by Gail Carriger. i was rather disappointed by this one. Soulless was amazing and so so funny, but this book lacked the zing that the first book had loads of.
  • The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K Jemisin. this book utterly fascinated me. i was gripped by the first page. the characters and the world. the writing. i can't wait for book #2!
  • Blameless by Gail Carriger. this book was definitely better than the second book, but it still can't compare to the first book. don't know if i'll be wanting to continue on to book four. we'll see!

so, to summarize, in january i read three very very good books and two not so good books. well done!
