i am currently, and probably always, on the quest for the perfect series. in the past, i have been able to discover them, but i am confident there are several more to be found. my search has almost exclusively been kept to the fantasy genre, be it dark fantasy, urban fantasy or epic fantasy, i am confident in saying i have a fair estimation of what's out there. don't get me wrong, i will continue reading fantasy literature, probably for the rest of my life, but since i've started the entire and the rose-series, which is a mix og scifi and fantasy, i have learned that to find the books that will appeal to me, i need to broaden my horizon. which is why, in july, i'm planning on reading my first ever steampunk novel. yeah, you heard me.

  • Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti by Genevieve Valentine. I read a review of this book on tor.com and i became utterly fascinated by the whole concept. a steampunk circus. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
  • Boneshaker by Cherie Priest. I've read nothing but promising words of this book. It was nominated for some hot shot literature award and won... i believe. one of the steampunk essentials apparently.
  • Dusk by Tim Lebbon. "When Kosar saw the horseman, the world began to end again." enough said.
  • A Betrayal in Winter by Daniel Abraham. Mind you, this is totally dependent on whether i like the first book in the series or not. I really really hope i do.
  • A Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin. I have to read this one. I simply have to. It comes out july 12th and it's going to be AWESOME!
