Laura Kinney (X-23) recommended reading list. Important/relevant titles are in bold.

  • Innocence Lost
  • Target X

note: the two volumes make up her Origins story.

  • NYX Wannabe (from issue #03-#07)

note: most people consider this skippable but to me personally it's very important to her storyline; not only this was her first comic appearance but also deals with a time of her life that will get referenced in future issues.

  • Uncanny X-Men: The New Age (#450, #451; #455-#460)

note: you'll probably find this in every single rec list but it's honestly not important. character accuracy doesn't click with the standard, and she doesn't have that big of a part in it anyways.

  • Captain Universe

note: not necessary. there's a plot in her solo series that will kind of get back to it so you won't miss anything if you skip.

  • New X-Men Vol. 2 (#20+)
  • X-Force Vol. 3

note: messiah complex's aftermaths lead to the creation of the x-force, that has storylines crossing over with both messiah war and necrosha. after messiah war, laura plays a role in second coming too, which concludes the messiah trilogy. second coming will lead to her solo series.

  • X-23 (one shot)
  • X-23 Vol. 3

note: her solo series, written by marjorie liu aka the best laura kinney writer (give laura back to her!!!). it has some of the most beautiful laura arts (by sana takeda) and her character depth and development in the series is SO GOOD + gambit is in pretty much all issues and his relationship with laura is probably one of my favourites. he treats her differently than everyone else and basically... he is what she really needed at that moment.

  • Avengers Academy (#23+)
  • Avengers Arena
  • All-New X-Men (#19+)
  • All New-Wolverine
  • X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back
  • Wolverines, Weapon X, Logan Legacy, Marvel Team-Up (vol. 3): #5-7, 25, Venom: Circle of Four (#10-#14)[after solo], * X-Men Vol. 2 #165 (joins the team) (???)
