- help others - 100 hours a year = 2 hours per week
- practice smiling - it can alleviate pain
- plan a trip - but don't even take one - the anticipation alone can help improve feelings of happiness
- MEDITATE - rewire your brain for happiness
- practice GRATITUDE - keep a journal of things you're grateful for, share 3 good things that happened each day with a friend or partner, go out of your way to show gratitude for others when they help you
