- too much. she never thought she'd say that, especially about demetri. but this...is a whole other part of him, something he's concealed from her wholly and completely without her suspecting.
- she loves him, she knows she still does. this new part of him doesn't erase the part that was with her the night before, or in the corridors of hogwarts. but how can she be certain of anything with him any more? how can she know that he's telling her the truth, not shacked up with some girl when he says he's home writing?
- she closes her eyes, silent, taking it in. she's still holding his hands, and touches her forehead to his. her eyes don't open, she wants to fall into his arms and feel him transform again, feel him become that prince charming that she's held in her arms so many nights. but she can't, she's terrified. she can't erase the images, the words, from her mind.
- she straightens her head, gently releasing his hands. she looks away from him, turning away for the first time in what feels like years. she doesn't want to do this to him, but she can't be the angel tonight.
- she bites her lip to keep it from trembling as she walks toward the door.
