Warning for death mention

I barely remember much pre-game. I remember the night my children died. It was a night filled with anger and grief. I made a vow that night, a vow I regretted almost immediately. I would break the Barrier and destroy the humans there.

I never did. But all the humans that fell underground came to their demise. I remember the Royal Guardsmen bringing me souls, human souls. I kept them all, and buried the bodies they brought with them. I only killed one or two, and that was in self defense. I lost many good monsters to some of these humans.

Then Frisk fell. They made their way through the underground, somehow avoiding capture and death, until they came into my room.

They were tiny, the tall flowers brushing around their waist. I almost didn't notice them. They couldn't have been any older than 6. And I couldn't bring it on myself to kill them. I had long since abandoned my angry vow, and Frisk's arrival finally broke me.

I took them in and cared for them, watched them grow. The poor child was attacked by nightmares frequently, and I comforted them. They grew up and helped bring monsterkind closer to humanity again. They even helped Toriel and I become friends again.

Then another child fell into the underground. Not too long after that, we broke the Barrier without destroying any more humans. And we were free.

Aside from Frisk, I was close with Undyne as well. She was a young orphan, and I couldn't help but give her a father figure to care for her and for her to trust. Myself. She was ambitious and quickly showed interest in the Royal Guard. I personally trained her and allowed her to join. She rose in the ranks fast. I was so proud of her...

I later got acquainted with Sans and Papyrus. I was charmed by Papyrus's excitement and ambition. Post-UNDERTALE, he did succeed in becoming part of the Royal Guard, though it was fairly obsolete by then.

Any memories of Gaster cut short, like it wasn't supposed to be there.
