My memories start blurred. It's the middle of the night, and something is wrong. I hear screaming. I get up and quickly packed my backpack, knowing I had to escape. I barely escaped in time.

It was raining. I ran as far as my little legs would take me before I ran out of energy. I took cover under a store awning as the rain came pouring down. Someone else was out in the rain. A boy with a hat pulled down over his eyes, an umbrella in his hand and a skateboard tucked under his arm.

He tried to ask me where my parents were. I just shook my head. He asked me to come with him. It wasn't a good night to be out. I later learned his name was Boarder. Boarder Cookie.

He took me to a house outside of the town. He passed me his skateboard and then knocked on the door. A few moments passed and another Cookie came to the door. She had orange hair and an orange sweater on. She looked at the two of us then told us to come in while she went to find her grandmother. That was Mustard Cookie.

She came back a few minutes later with her grandmother, Wasabi Cookie. Almost immediately, Wasabi ran off again, coming back with towels for the two of us, as we were both soaked. She fretted over us for a few minutes. I felt tired, and I eventually just passed out.

That is my only solid memory. The rest are just in snippets. Wasabi adopted me, and Mustard became a sister to me. Boarder became my best friend, and I met Cloud Cookie and quickly found romantic feelings for them.

I had nightmares often, having to do with the night I ran away. Something bad had happened, but I could never remember. Pocket Strawberry, my pet, was my biggest comfort item.

A good friend of mine was Peppermint Cookie. They were about 9 or 10, very quiet and spent a lot of time by the sea. They lived with Herb Cookie, who had taken them under his wing. I learned after a while that Peppermint's parents were Sea Fairy Cookie and Moonlight Cookie. They were never around, so Herb took care of them.

I was non-binary and preferred they/them pronouns. I was selectively mute. I had both my LINE and my Ovenbreak powers. I couldn't have been any older than 13. Mustard and Boarder were about the same age as me, Cloud was a little older.
