After the events of "Change Your Mind", Goldstone was given a choice to begin a new project- to work to undo the Cluster prototypes and restore shattered gems. Overwhelmed by this task, he rejected it and took an explorative vacation to Earth with Tanzanite.

He secretly wants to join the Crystal Gems, but harbors too much guilt and attachment to his Homeworld status to do so. He's trying to internally work through it all.

Perhaps with enough time and convincing, he'll come around.

Goldstone is a rare gem created under Yellow Diamond's court. He is held in very high regard. His purpose is to be a versatile scientist.

Goldstone's first major project was to research and seek an artificial cure for cracked gems. Some of his subjects were just soldiers and worker gems who hurt themselves on the job, others were cracked as punishment for misdeeds and sent to Goldstone for his research. Though he remained compassionate and careful with his subjects, many gems' cracks exacerbated and ended up shattering before he could save them. This disturbed him greatly and caused him much guilt, but he kept up a facade of being jaded by the experience.

Yellow Diamond grew increasingly impatient with Goldstone's failure to create a cure, despite his nonstop work. The Earth rebellion was getting serious, and Yellow was throwing her own gems into the war on...

• Goldstone is taller than the average Pearl, but shorter than Garnet and Bismuth.
• His form is not very resilient and he poofs easily. He takes a while to reform due to the details of his form.

OTHER INFO:

• In ranking, he stands below a Sapphire, on equal footing with an Emerald, and above an Agate. He could have a Pearl if he wanted.
• He was the first Goldstone to ever emerge.
• He's also the most famous Goldstone, often referred to as just "Goldstone" by common gems rather than by his exit code, in the same way Jasper is.
• His exit code is facet 2X6B, cut 6XB.

Tanzanite is Goldstone's best friend since the war. Goldstone feels a sense of lifelong debt towards Tanzanite and owes his life to them.

Their relationship is reminiscent of a pair of siblings- constantly playfully bullying eachother. They know eachother very well and fusion comes naturally to them.

• YELLOW DIAMOND

Goldstone is one of Yellow Diamond's best science-oriented gems and she's very lenient with him, spoiling him often. If he asked, she would probably give him his own Pearl.

Goldstone sometimes resents her for her actions during the rebellion and the nature of the things she assigned him, but at the end of the day he harbors nothing but...

• Goldstone is gay, and he may or may not have some feelings for some of his fellow Goldstones.
• Due to the trauma of his first line of work and his war experiences, he has an immense fear of cracking his gem. Fortunately, it's yet to happen to him.
• He collects shiny things and stores them in his gem. It comes naturally to all Goldstones.
• He hates to get dirty or be seen while dirty- especially on his gemstone.
• He hates having his gem touched in general.
• Goldstone loves all the Diamonds, but don't put it past him to make fun of Blue or White in private in Yellow's favor. He secretly thinks Pink Diamond is a joke.
• Goldstone keeps logs in a similar manner to Peridot. He's been doing it since his first day of life. He uses them both for ...
