i tend to ramble a lot when it comes to toukomaru, so i'm going to try to keep it simple. effectively, i'm not a huge fan of this ship because komaru's age is sort of ambiguous and touko seems like she friendzoned komaru hard.

honestly i think the first point is the biggest one for me. i think somewhere it's stated that komaru is 18, but at the beginning of the game, she said it had been two years that she spent in captivity and she was still wearing the middle school uniform that she was captured in. which would make her... what? sixteen? whereas touko at that point would likely be nineteen or twenty. which just feels bad to me, i wouldn't want to ship that.

also, touko has a very specific way that she acts with her crushes: she tends to get very obsessed with her love interest, as we can see by byakuya. she also tends to go for a masochistic approach and puts her love interest on a pedestal, which she definitely doesn’t do with komaru. actually she seems to be really tsundere with komaru which is way more how she’s like with naegi, her friend. i don’t deny that touko wouldn’t eventually feel comfortable with her crushes and love interests, enough to be less “intense” about her feelings for them, but there’s definitely that obsession phase that needs to be accounted for. she ALSO calls komaru her sister a bunch of times and that just doesn't feel like ship behaviour to me! it really doesn't!
