okay so i didn’t talk about kaimaki which i hate with such a burning passion and like AGAIN disclaimer if someone ships it i won’t hate on them but i also don’t really feel comfortable talking about it like im that bitch who feels nauseous when i see ship art or even someone with a maki icon pda’ing about kaito like im really that guy

okay so basically i just think it’s a TERRIBLE dynamic. the whole point of the ship is that it was supposed to happen out of nowhere cause v3 is bad writing but then these bitches actually started shipping it?? and i was like what the Fuck are you doing

they’re honestly just so terrible for each other and i can’t even begin to summarize. first of all, maki’s go-to for kaito is “idiot”, which bothers him so much that he TELLS people over and over not to call him that. this is the guy who was dying and didn’t want to kick up a fuss. being called an idiot really gets to him and maki just did Not respect that

also maki’s notably actually frustrated by his attitude and how he sort of passes things along to his sidekicks, and she talks about it with shuichi and she’s genuinely surprised that he’s okay with kaito’s attitude

not to mention kaito’s ridiculously misogynistic and he keeps seeing maki as someone who needs to be taken care of. he also won’t let anyone take care of him, LEAST OF ALL a girl. that’s a whole thing. there’s like no capacity for growth here. maki’s concerns won’t be heard because she’s a girl. kaito’s concerns won’t be heard because he doesn’t want to be weak in front of a girl. like it just doesn’t work

also this is a side note that i personally find hilarious is that when maki confesses kaito’s like “awesome now go love yourself ANYWAY SHUICHI IVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU AND—”
