without courage, wisdom bears no fruit.

  • courage doesn’t always roar. sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says i’ll try again tomorrow.

compromise where you can. where you can’t, don’t. even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, ‘no. you move.’

  • when we make lists of what we love, we remember who we are.

my chest is never good at saying the things i want to say the most, i hope i can find the words, someday, so that i can give them to you.

  • to be strong is to understand weakness. to be weak is to have fears. to have fears is to have something precious to you. to have something precious to you is to be strong.

the world needs fantasy, not reality. we have enough reality today.

  • the past can be changed by the future.

if it’s unrealistic to say there’s hope, it’s equally unrealistic to say there’s only despair. there isn’t just one kind of human emotion.

  • i’m afraid i’ll be a book that no one reads. music that no one listens to anymore. i’m afraid i’ll be abandoned like a movie playing in an empty theater.

the worst part about being strong is that no one ever asks if you’re okay.

  • there are two important days in your life: the day you were born, and the day you find out why.

half the world’s starving; the other half is trying to lose weight.

  • pain is inevitable. suffering is optional.

everybody's born with some different thing at the core of their existence. and that thing, whatever it is, becomes like a heat source that runs each person from the inside. i have one too, of course. like everybody else. but sometimes it gets out of hand. it swells or shrinks inside me, and it shakes me up. what i'd really like to do is find a way to communicate that feeling to another person.
