another from lists i have to write before i die. this is a list of some of the best friends i've ever had (family not included).

  • allison: i became friends with her when i stole her away from my husband (then boyfriend) in college. we equal each other in our desire to be in comfy clothes and close to home. she is my person. 'nuff said. (one of my top memorable moments with allison is when she met mike and i gave her permission to smooch him!)
  • sarah: sarah came to my house with her twin, cat, for a lia sophia party. i knew she was "the one" when she knew exactly how to handle my growly terrier, dodger. since then we have shared a love for food, camping, dogs, and our allison. (my favorite memory of sarah was when she first got pregnant with benji and said "i was just kidding about having a baby!")
  • sara: i met sara when she started working at bellini. though we were friends while working together, i grew to appreciate and need her even more after i left "the bean." she is someone i can be completely open and gluttonous with. (my favorite memory of sara is this past summer when she became a naughty teenager again and told me all the stories (or should i say confessions?).)
  • kim: kim was dating my good friend curtis when she swept me off of my feet. people think we look like sisters with our blonde hair, blue eyes, and red lips. kim is never afraid to say what is on her mind and always steps up for a friend in need. (one of the best moments in our friendship was when we both downed a bottle of wine each while chatting and sitting in candlelight at the commune in college.)
  • jennie: jennie was my best friend in high school. we were pretty inseparable, especially within our close knit group of girls. jennie is beautiful, warm, and filled with smiles. (one of my favorite moments with jennie was when i got her in trouble in probability & statistics with mr. foulke because we chatted too much.)
  • katharine: i met katharine at my dad's company picnic. we hit it off immediately and begged our dads to let us have a sleepover that very night. katharine is full of creativity. (my favorite memory of katharine is the very first day we met at the picnic.)
  • katie: katie and i never sat still in middle school. every weekend of the summer we went to her family cottage in kelly lake to swim, pontoon, water ski, jet ski, canoe, watch "days of our lives," and more. (my absolute favorite memory about my friendship with katie is us singing all the words to the animaniacs soundtrack, specifically "i'm mad.")
  • holly: technically the first time we met was in 5th grade when i went to her school for 2 days and transferred out. we met back up in middle school and have stayed close since. holly is my gullible, lovable friend that is always willing to do anything for fun. (the best memory i have of holly is when we visited katharine in texas and those two went skinny dipping in the reilly's pool.)
  • kellijo: i don't even remember how we became friends, but we were together all the time in elementary school. we mostly talked about boys or sang and danced in her bedroom to music. (one of my favorite memories is when she visited me in green bay and brought her tlc cd; i thought my mom was going to get mad and make us turn off the "dirty" music!)
  • krista: our moms were best friends and so were we until i moved away at age 8. she taught me to be silly. (some of my favorite memories include sliding down the stairs in a sleeping bag, connecting the dots on her freckle birth mark, wearing matching clothes in minocqua, and hiding in the car in california when we ran out of gas.)
