The work is an adaptation of old myths, from when fairies were genuinely feared.

The seelie are more inclined to be benevolent towards humans and are willing to help them. They can cause harm but need motivation for it.

The Unseelie don't see any special value in humans, except maybe as an appetizer or entertainment, and will harm them. The Unseelie can be kind, but need motivation for it.
