Playing Minecraft as an alternative to Lego is actually the most fun that I've had in a while.
Plans for the long run
- Connect neighbouring areas by paths
- Automate as many farms as possible
- Establish a rail network
- Start new bases around other themes
- Make use of ticking areas
- what else?
Random ideas for bases in Minecraft
- Homestuck
- 金沢
- Funeralopolis
- Ghestletree & the Inner Circle
- Steampunk
- Deutschland
- Scandinavia
- what else?
Homestuck
- Play with a Homestuck themed skin
- Things to build: Derse and/or Prospit; John Egbert's neighbourhood
- Focus on building a very exploitable village
- Other media to reference: Off; Undertale; Petscop; Omori
金沢
- I can imagine a huge network of bases and villages when it comes to the idea of having a Kanazawa-themed base. There should be rail connections everywhere; a lot cherry trees; and plenty of references to pop culture.
- There should be a big one called "Itabashi". There would be a lot of large factories automating the production of all kinds of items. Here, I should build upwards as much as possible. There should be a cat café somewhere here for sure.
- And near it there should be one called either "Ishikawa", "Kanazawa" or maybe "Korimbo" with a large castle and garden in the middle surrounded by a train station; a temple; my home; shops for hand-made goods; a mine; museums; etc.
- If we ever move to Japan, there should be another base that is based on our neighbourhood as well.
Practical notes:
- Where could it be? Far away from everything? South of Minami?
Pop culture references:
- ビデオゲーム
- アニメ
- エヴァンゲリオン
- アキラ
- ウテナ
- ひぐらしのなく頃に
- ゆるキャラ
- 招き猫
- サンリオ
- ひゃくまんさん、さかなざわさちこ

Skins that I could use for this:
- Alucard from Hellsing || Rei from Evangelion
Funeralopolis
- Heavy metal/Gothic base, lava everywhere, probably in a ravine, very polluted
- Focus on exploiting glitches and automating farms
- Horror elements? Playing at night only?
- Maybe based on London?
- In that case, maybe build it near Fairview? In that case, it could be around the village to the east
- Musical references:
- Iron Maiden?
- Black metal?
- House of the Rising Sun?
- Windmill in the sky?
- Gojira? ("Flying Whales", "Toxic Garbage Island")
- Other pop culture references:
- Videogames: Doom; Boatmurdered
- Movies?
- Books?
Skins that I could use for this:
- Ghost || Alucard
- Uniqlo Enderman || Uniqlo Creeper
- which one from Adventure Time? Either Death or Marceline
- vikings?
Ghestletree
- Based on some online stories:
- Ghestletree
- Inner Circle
- Wall of Questioning
- Probably a tribute to the weird internet
- Other references to pull:
- ENA {I don't like it but still fits this vibe}
Steampunk
- Use a Steampunk resource pack
- Build with copper
- Focus on automating as many processes as possible without redstone (or at least make them very easy to be done by hand)
- A lot of rail as well if possible
Skins to use:
- Personal Steampunk skin pack
- what else?
Deutschland
Ich weiß nicht, was ich hier machen kann.
Scandinavia
Ticking areas
Thoughts around ticking areas
- I wish I had known about this before! This completely changes the way that I look at cities in my Minecraft world. Aside from being just an area to be developed, now I am thinking about areas of 10x10 chunks that I should make the most out of in terms of automation.
- Minami 2 isn't necessary right now because I'm still not using all of Minami's ticking area right now
- With the exception of Minami 1, I should deactivate ticking areas that I'm not using.
- Nonetheless I should avoid optimising the fun out of Minecraft with it
Ideas for future areas
- Colônia?
- Fairview?
- area on top of a village?
- Minas?
- Mipu?
- somewhere else?
- another area near Minami?
- Minami 2?
- Can Town?
- Clarence B?
- Pocket Camp?
