- morning adventure in the east village: a blueberry bagel with birthday cake cream cheese ♥ from 'tompkins square bagels'
- Books of Wonder and their beautiful, sparkly business cards
- that i mustered up the courage to talk to the author of Off Track Planet's Brooklyn Guide, ask him about his favourite boroughs (Bed-Stuy was his top choice!), buy a copy and get it signed :)
- the lovey lady in gold on the subway ♥
- at the neil gaiman + junot diaz event, i sat in the row behind Amanda Palmer and little baby anthony, who had a hiccup for at least the last 10 mins of the talk :)
- checking out more flavours of dough doughnuts. today it was lemon ginger
- i bought tickets to go to Washington, DC in December. now to make a list of all the things i want to see
- being surrounded by calm, quiet, nice people on the subway
- Sara got me some little haribo to cure possible homesickness plus some american candy to make me a 'candy rainbow' ♥ so sweet of her!
- sitting at the bar in the 'molasses books' bookstore, sipping some tea like the cool kids do. also, had a surprisingly good 'molasses' (pun intended) cookie
- finally finding that cheapest fruit & vegetable stall at union square, as recommended by a colleague
- finding out about her gig in NY the day before, then actually making it to purchasing a ticket online & seeing the wonderful Mary Lambert ♥ live
- serendipitous coincidences: the term 'big magic' playing a role in the book by Jasper Fforde I'm just reading & realizing that Liz Gilbert's new book is called "Big Magic" and Mary Lambert saying to the audience yesterday night "Puppies for everyone!" & then seeing this video called "Drunk Girls Get Surprised with Puppies" just a few hours later
- getting this tote bag for free (!) with my shopping at 'The Strand'!
- Trader Joe's Candy Cane Decaffeinated Green Tea ~ the newest addition to my collection of Trader Joe's seasonal teas with cute animals on them :)
- Ella Risbridger's heartbreaking, wonderful, brilliantly written lipstick columns
- "Excuse me, Miss, I think you've lost your smile back there! No? Is it just gone forever?" And me not answering, but shaking my head, then nodding and smiling
- how soft the insides of my new glittery mittens are
- the blind man's warm, dry hands when I led him to the elevator ~ might have been my first actual physical contact in weeks
- three good books in a row!
- i'm thankful for my very 1st Thanksgiving in the US, full of meeting new people, lovely vegetarian food, interesting conversation and my very first bite of a new york cheesecake (peanut butter with chocolate ganache)
