17th September to 2nd October 2014, North-Western France:

• i did: clean an outside toilet + gardening, helped organizing + cleaning inside, weeding, muck out donkeys' stables
• hitchhiking
• (met lovely people on the road, relied on my friends, experienced great hospitality)
• i had: cidre de Normandy, creme frâiche ("Wo der normale Franzose Sahne benutzt, benutzt der Normanne Creme frâiche"), a massive macaron au chocolat, Camembert, Moscato (Sam's favourite sweet Italian wine), cigarettes russes au chocolat from probably the best Patisserie in all of Normandy, pizza with goat cheese (♥), Pont L'Evêque (a bit like Camembert; tasty smelly cheese), an èclair au caramel, Brioche
• i did: work in a chateau, cleaning + tidying, clean windows, play with a bilingual 3-year-old, crack hazelnuts, help clean + get ready a holiday cottage/ gîte, ironing, clean toys, stick stamps + prepare packaging for eBay parcels
• i also did: visit Lisieux, its Basilica + its Saturday market, collect walnuts from two walnut trees, visit the Livarot cheese factory + try tasty smelly French cheeses, watch Eastenders, visit the Buddhist temple/ Institut Tibétain, take a walk in the French countryside (probably trespassing on private property/ fields)
• i was in: Saint Pierre-des-Nids, Saint Céneri le Gerei, Bellême, Roiville, Argentan, Lisieux, Livarot, Trun, Gacé, Alençon
• i saw: wild deer, a wild fox!, happy (2 yr old, female) cows in the field just behind Leah and Nico's house
