- korea, 1997 - 2001, watching dubbed pokemon, taking walks with my mother and begging for street food, buying picture books every time we had enough change, making butterflies with splotches of paint on paper folded over in half, coffee flavored candy and playing with dough
- mesa house with the swimming pool that my brother biked into and almost drowned in / tiled floors / beds in the living room / banjun drama playing at night, trying to listen from my parents' room
- daycare.... the clean up song, playing basketball with a boy named kevin
- coloring the apple red instead of yellow or green
- baking small "apple pies"... making ants on a log
- tolleson #1... the small bathroom in the kitchen, wanting a copy of kidz bop
- having a secret club with a president and a vice president and a secretary, being chased by boys who wanted to join
- the other second grade class had already started learning multiplication
- told to look away during the kiss in pocahontas
- the bus stop was at a park and whenever it rained the park would be flooded and i'd walk to the point where the sidewalk sank into the water and think about how i could keep walking and drown
- the biggest house i've ever seen..... the basement could have been a whole new house. so many bathrooms. i could have gotten lost there. cats would roam the house and you could find them in the bathroom cabinets where the towels should have been. there was a fireplace and in the morning it was dreamy and movie-esque. in the backyard there were four goats and so much grass, everywhere, and a swing hanging from a branch in a tree. the next door neighbors had a horse and a boy rode over to the fence one day and said hello. there were fruit trees where we picked oranges and apricots and that summer was endless
- tempe #1... a backyard full of gravel and an old scooter with blue, scratchy foam on the handlebars... i danced with angela in the living room and shared a bed with my brothers
- hooked on phonics
- games with amber where we'd walk on the roots of the oldest trees at school
- filling out scholastic book order forms and wondering when the books would come
- kite-flying. drinking sprite at the barbecue because my mother didn't like when i had coke. and pressing ice-cold waterbottles on jose's back
- tolleson #2... the bus
- walking home with jesus and once he took care of my tamagotchi for an entire day but came to my house to return them because it was too much work
- tolleson #3... the room with pink and green walls and in the bathroom there was frog wallpaper and a cozy book corner by the stairs on the second floor and from my brother's room we could see the school next to our backyard. on the first floor there was a desk with a computer on it from 2000 and a bed and i tried to write stories on word 2003
- watching a lot of zoey 101 and drake and josh and the replacements over the summer because we were hardly ever allowed to go outside
- corn and sunflowers in the backyard but they all shriveled up in the heat
- the playground further down our neighborhood where emmy walked her dog and olivia lived near and the entire sixth grade hung out at after the field trip
- if you got honor roll you got a big chocolate chip cookie
- book fairs
- quizzes titled "does he like you" and "what flavor of ice cream are you"
- listening to the radio obsessively all day for that one song to come on
- multi-author stories on the nick.com message boards
- tempe #2... the dressers blocked out the natural lighting... i spent a lot of time on the computer with my red lamp on and struggled in algebra... small but cosy
- walking to school every single day even when it was really bitingly cold...
- a lot of... friends... lockers that no one even used... falling asleep in english class...

- yahoo messenger... hours and hours on yahoo messenger, fanfiction.net, sending emails back and forth
- carrying around a five star mead notebook with all the pockets and nice plastic cover
- phoenix... fountains everywhere, walking to the laundry room at the end of the week..... dreamy and warm in the mornings.... swimming pools, the bus, o
- in the mornings the room would turn blue and i could see the dust when the light was streaming through the blinds and the door would be open a little bit

- falling asleep when i should have been doing my geometry work
- the big renovation / cleanup at my middle school...
- so many people at my first high school!!!!! everywhere. getting to class was hard

- scottsdale.... what a small kitchen. green, a lot.
