in vaguely chronological order:

• on the road to ... somewhere with one of my mom's former friends and her two sons: no idea where we were going. no idea what we did when we got there. all i remember is that, before i was able to sleep in the car, i stayed up the entire trip watching movies on a little tv that plugged into the cigarette lighter. the lion king was extra-scary that way.
• we used to drive to tennessee to see whitney and her mom a lot.
• one time, we got down there and couldn't find them, but we stopped at a mall and i got a bathing suit. it was red with a white hawaiian floral pattern.
• my mom, my dad, chelsea and i drove to king's island. when we got there, my mom and dad pretended to make out on the helicopters, and the beastie terrified me.
• whenever we went to evansville for thanksgiving, we would stop at the same gas station, where grandma would get these maple nut candies. i still get them sometimes and think of her.
• when we drove down to see ash for the first time, my mom was really offended that i was reading in the car.
• coming home from georgia, we got completely lost trying to get out of alabama. we kept passing the same single cow in the middle of nowhere.
• we drove all night with leah's mom to go to an MCR concert. on the way there, i played with leah's makeup and gave her strawberry eyes. then i tried to make myself a vampire, but they laughed at me.
• every time leah and i go a concert, "lola" comes on the radio in the car.
• driving to see olivia's birth, we took thor, and he kept laying down on the backseat and preventing me from having any room. i wanted to lay down and sleep, but jim kept yelling at me. i still think he loves that dog more than me.
• when heather, emily, bree and i went to king's island, the navigator on heather's phone saved us after the directions got us lost. coming back, the phone got us so lost that we would have been better off just guessing random routs.
• nevertheless, emily and bree were in a pretty good mood. they kept rolling down the windows and shouting at people. "yeah, you mow that lawn!"
• whenever i go anywhere on a roadtrip, i have to stop and eat at crackle barrel. it's tradition.
• on the way home from disney world, ash and i got madlibs. there was only one that was funny. she made it up mostly on her own.
• ash and i trade books in the car when she goes home, that way we still have something of each other.
