- ISO is film speed; higher ISO means more sensitive to light (eg use ISO 100 in sun, ISO 800 at night)
- aperture is how much light gets in; smaller f number means more light & each f stop equals a double or half the light of adjacent f stops (i.e., f.6 is twice the light of f.8 // f.11 is half the light of f.8)
- higher f. stop (that is, lower aperture) means higher depth of field - which means less focus - larger aperture means smaller focal point, with softer background whereas smaller aperture means sharper image
