• Always use a reference, preferably on specifically for what you're drawing at the moment.(drawing an arm?look at pictures specifically of arms instead of just a fullbody refrence)
  • Always challenge yourself, this is how you improve faster.
  • Never avoid drawing something you know you can't draw good,or you won't improve as fast.
  • Always take a break between sketching and making the final line art. This will help you notice your mistakes so you can fix them.
  • Art doesn't have to have thin/colored/no line art to be good.
  • Always draw the seams on cloths.
  • Always sketch more than once before you do line art.Two to four times is good.
  • Never rely on stylization as and excuse for anatomy.(no "it's just my style"excuses.)I'm not saying that having a heavily stylized art style is bad,I'm saying that if something looks like a mistake, then it is.
  • Always practice drawing what you're bad at drawing over what you're already good at.
  • When using a reference, always always always always use a real life photo more often than someone else's art, even if said art was made to be a reference. This has nothing to do with something along the lines of "you're copying their art"or something else like that,it's just that if the artist you're referencing messed up something or stylized something in a certain way, your own art that you made using that reference will 99.9% of the time mess that part up.
  • Always draw with a short-sleeved shirt,or with you're sleeves pushed up.(I know this sounds weird but it helps)
  • Always use the Rule of Thirds.
  • A very good way to give a drawing more colors and make it look all cool and stuff is to put an overlay layer of a rainbow on low opacity over it. This doesn't work for all art,and results may vary in different art programs, but it works wonders for me.
  • Never use pure white(RGB 255,255,255 or Hex Color #FFFFFF) for anything with digital art. It looks awful with shading.
  • A drawing should always look as good in gray scale as it does in color.
  • Don't actually take any of my advice at all. I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm just pretending to be smart to impress you.
