My workout routine is erratic at best. Every other week or so I train in muay thai or bjj with José, every now and then I hit up the gym, etc. I need to establish a consistent workout routine in order to reach my goal for health, strength and endurance.
- Buy athletic shoes (cross-trainers good enough for boxing)
- Warm up with lunges, stretches, etc
- Jog/bike daily
- Jumprope daily
- Calisthenics (100 pushup challenge?), bicycle crunches, squats, etc
- Shadowbox daily
- Train weekly (or biweekly, if I can manage) with José
- Bag train when time permits
Every now and then, gym!
- Elliptical for like 15-20 minutes
- Strength machines/free weights
During training:
- Box box box box box box box
- Get back to kicking
Eventually
- Plyometrics
- Insanity Workout?
- P90X?
Workout nutrition:
- Complex carbs & proteins 90 minutes before working out
- Fruit or fruit juice 15-30 minutes before workout
- Sports drink/water during workout
- Sports/protein drink IMMEDIATELY after workout. The sooner the better!
- More protein & carbs post workout. Eat within 30 minutes of finishing the workout.
