My workout routine is erratic at best. Every other week or so I train in muay thai or bjj with José, every now and then I hit up the gym, etc. I need to establish a consistent workout routine in order to reach my goal for health, strength and endurance.

  • Buy athletic shoes (cross-trainers good enough for boxing)
  • Warm up with lunges, stretches, etc
  • Jog/bike daily
  • Jumprope daily
  • Calisthenics (100 pushup challenge?), bicycle crunches, squats, etc
  • Shadowbox daily
  • Train weekly (or biweekly, if I can manage) with José
  • Bag train when time permits

Every now and then, gym!

  • Elliptical for like 15-20 minutes
  • Strength machines/free weights

During training:

  • Box box box box box box box
  • Get back to kicking

Eventually

  • Plyometrics
  • Insanity Workout?
  • P90X?

Workout nutrition:

  • Complex carbs & proteins 90 minutes before working out
  • Fruit or fruit juice 15-30 minutes before workout
  • Sports drink/water during workout
  • Sports/protein drink IMMEDIATELY after workout. The sooner the better!
  • More protein & carbs post workout. Eat within 30 minutes of finishing the workout.
