our official quarantine was from march 17 to may 31, when my wife went back to work. we have continued to self-isolate and do not go anywhere except work.
after two separate exposures to people that tested positive, my wife returned to home for a two week quarantine from july 17 to august 2
after a surge in cases because of the holidays, we quarantined together again for the first two weeks of january 2022
- neither of us, nor anyone we know, has contracted the virus
- edit: my sister tested positive and was moderately sick for three weeks starting mid-august
- edit: my dad contracted covid on the street in late nov 2021, was moderately sick for about two weeks
- edit: both my wife and my mother tested positive and were sick for around 3 weeks during late july 2022
- even though my wife has been off without pay for over a month, we are financially stable and secure (and blessings keep rolling in)
- she is able to continue to stay home because we can manage it financially
- we have plenty of food and access to easy grocery shopping
- the markets are offering free pickup and delivery services to make getting groceries even easier
- we have plenty of toilet paper and cleaning supplies thanks to me going toiletry shopping just before everyone bought everything (total fluke)
- we have plenty of medicine and supplies to treat ourselves in case we do get sick thanks to keeping those things in stock anyway
- we have good insurance and continue to have easy access to our medications and doctor to ask questions and talk
- we both still have access to our therapists through facetime sessions and money to pay for those sessions
- we have been able to get temporary financial relief regarding our mortgage and various other bills
- we are able to zoom with our family members and still have contact with everyone
- we have had two different people (yvonnne and kelly) make us handmade face masks as well as others (semmi) give us extra masks, which we then passed on to laura
- we still have access to our home warranty to get our ac fixed just as it's getting hotter, plus money to pay the fee
- we have gotten to spend so much quality time together and feel closer than ever before, regardless of our issues with anxiety
- we enjoy each other and have fun together, so we are comfortable at home together
- we have plenty of entertainment at home, including a library, tv & streaming services, video games, and phones
- we live somewhere where we can take a safe and pleasant walk every day
- we have a comforting and peaceful bedroom where we have made a little comfy cave to spend our time in
- all of this time to just be has made us both think a lot about life and priorities and made us resolve to make some changes, including eliminating social media from our lives
