When: January 3, 2007 How: on TV Comments: Eh, lame.
When: January 5, 2007 How: downloaded Comments: Lena Headey = Keira Knightley. Matthew Goode = Rupert Everett. When it comes to mannerisms and facial expressions, at least.
When: January 5, 2007 How: in theatres Quote: Christopher (Jaden Smith): There's this man drowning. A boat comes up to him and ask if he needs any help. The man says, "No, I'm waiting for God to save me. Another boat comes up to him and asks him if he needs help. The man says, "No thanks, I'm waiting for God to save me". Finally the man drowns and goes to Heaven. He asks God why he didn't save him. God says, "I sent you two boats, you dummy."
When: January 12, 2007 How: on TV (Free Movies on Demand c/o TCM? Okay.) Comments: I liked it a lot. I can't blame a girl who'd be willing to give up a mundane life of domestic goddessry for exciting journalism. Oh and Cary Grant, of course.
When: January 17, 2007 How: on TV (TCM again.) Comments: Out Cold ruined the ending for me.
When: January 26, 2007 How: downloaded Comments: Stop lying, you liar. You're making everything harder than it could be. And you're the one suffering the consequences. Don't do that.
When: January 27, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: Much much much better than most of the Tagalog movies I've seen in the past year (which weren't many, but still). But really really now, Filipino directors have got to give up those "romantic" scenes. They're corny, they're too long, they're unreal. Find a way to make it romantic but real. Because if it's romantic and unrealistic, then it won't really make me kilig.
When: January 29, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: Oh dude, it was so bad.
When: January 30, 2007 How: on DVD, in the public library Comments: I agree with Alex; she should have ended up with Duckie. Circumstances: It's finals week, right, so we get out at 12:35. Nona and I planned on walking past somewhere where they were obviously filming something, but it rained so we decided not to do it. We ate then went to the library. She wiped out the CD department and then we went to the DVD department and decided to see this movie. I had brought my sister's laptop to school, and we watched it on there, in the library, it was fun.
When: February 1, 2007 How: in theatres Comments: It seemed like one of those Tagalog movies. It was poorly developed, and there were wtf moments (not the good, surprising kind). Don't see it. If you're really really curious because it's Jennifer Garner, wait for it on DVD. It's not worth it to see it in theatres. Circumstances: Last day of finals. I took the bus to Barnes&Noble, felt like being alone, walked around, attempted to look for presents for people, and failed miserably at that last bit. Then Nona asked if I wanted to see this movie today or tomorrow or whenever, and I said I couldn't tomorrow, so we went today.
When: February 3, 2007 How: on TV Comments: Uh-Huh is my favorite because I've been saying "Uh-huh" a lot recently. And I love how they all underestimate him. Quote: Uh-huh: Actually, I've always had a rather extensive vocabulary, not to mention a phenomenal grasp of grammar and a superlative command of syntax. I simply chose not to employ them.
When: February 11, 2007 How: in theatres Comments: Predictable but enjoyable. There were annoying but amusing moments. And I am glad that Mandy Moore has not been sucked into the world of young, trendy actresses and anorexia and trashy night lives and drunk driving incidents.
When: February 13, 2007 How: in theatres Comments: Ridiculous, of course.
When: February 20 & 21, 2007 How: on VHS (it was recorded from the Lifetime channel by my Life Skills teacher, we have to fast forward through the commercials, it's hilarious mostly because that class is idiotic) Comments: Typical Lifetime movie. Also, I like Thora Birch.
When: February 20 & ?, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: I wanted to watch more foreign films. The moves are awesome. I was really tired that night (20Feb'07) though, so I didn't get to finish it. I'll finish it soon.
When: February 27, 2007 How: on TV
When: March 1, 2007 How: on TV (Showtime on demand)
When: March 3, 2007 How: on TV (HBO on demand) Comments: I love how trailers basically just sell the romance part of the movie while completely ignoring the whole honor/duty/stop attacking our villages, we just want peace already dammit... I like period films.
When: March 10, 2007 How: on TV (Showtime on demand) Comments: I really don't like how Harland Williams acts.
When: March 14, 2007 How: on DVD (yay public library, you rent movies out for free!) Comments: Period movie. Thoughtful cinematography (pastel colors instead of classic, royal colors). Usually I like the short, quiet, thoughtful scenes inserted here and there, but maybe in this movie there might have been too many of them.
When: March 17, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: I was at a YFC household/sleepover, and Ate Nikki rented this and The Devil Wears Prada. So she put The Devil Wears Prada in the DVD player first. But it froze. And got stuck. And so we brought down a different DVD player. And put this movie in. By this time it was way past midnight; that's why it counts as March 17 and not 16. The movie was skipping and it froze every once in a while but it started back up again. But we missed some parts of the movie. Including the resolution. And yeah.
When: March 18, 2007 How: on TV (Showtime on demand)
When: March 23, 2007 How: downloaded
When: March 23, 2007 How: on TV Comments: Yay Disney movies!
When: March 23, 2007 How: on TV (The Disney Channel) Comments: Not actually a Disney movie, it's a Universal Studios picture, but it was on the Disney Channel, so.
When: March 24, 2007 How: on TV (TMC on demand)
When: March 24, 2007 How: on TV (something on demand) Comments: Upside Down is my sister's ringtone.
When: March 26, 2007 How: on TV (The Disney Channel!)
When: March 30 & 31, 2007 How: on DVD (Yearbook is done, so someone brought that movie in. Didn't finish it though Finished it at home the next day.) Quotes: Sparky: Cheerleaders are dancers who have gone retarded.
Sparky: Darcy, honey, you should stop eating. You see, when you skip a meal, your body feeds off its fat stores. And if you skip enough, maybe your body will eat your ass. [Jennifer and I could not stop laughing around that part.]
When: March 30, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: Nona and I were depressed because of the recent rejections we've received from colleges. We (Nona, Chris, and I) went to Blockbuster and rented this.
When: March 31, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: I really liked the main Bond girl, Eva Green. She has this really complex beauty, not the generic kind that you can find everywhere. And everybody hated the change from Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig, but I didn't think he was such a bad Bond.

When: April 4, 2007 How: on DVD
When: April 6, 2007 How: on TV (Movies on demand)
When: April 7 & 10, 2007 How: on TV Circumstances: Didn't see it from the beginning, but saw most of it on Saturday 7th April. Then Monday night I was doing homework and my sister was watching TV and she saw that it was going to be shown again at 1:10am 10th April, so I saw the beginning part that I hadn't seen.
When: April 8, 2007 How: on DVD
When: April 13, 2007 How: in theatres
When: April 16 & 17, 2007 How: on VHS, in Life Skills class Comments: What is it about that class? All he makes us do is watch videos, and most of these videos are irrelevant and shitty. I don't mind much that they're irrelevant, but it kills me how shitty they are. Oh well, I don't pay attention when the videos are so painfully stupid anyway; I read. These two days I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I'm re-reading the whole series, leading up to the seventh.
When: April 17 & 18, 2007 How: on DVD, in Yearbook Comments: The yearbook is almost completely done. It's awesome. We are spending the rest of the time in that class watching movies. I don't understand why this movie is such a huge phenomenon. But hey, it's a Disney movie, so yeah.
When: April 26 & 27, 2007 How: on DVD, in Yearbook Comments: I hate liars.
When: April 27 & , 2007 How: on DVD, in Yearbook Comments: Alternating between lame and inexplicably hysterical.
When: April 28, 2007 How: on VCD, which Myca brought from the Philippines Comments: This movie kind of teaches you not to be adopted, ever. It sucks so much.
When: April 28, 2007 How: on VCD, which Myca brought from the Philippines Quote: "Mirror, mirror on the wall, call the doctor very quick!"
When: May 9, 2007 How: in theatres, on IMAX Comments: Emo and obnoxious do not mix well. When he was all venomified and emo and he kept acting stupid, it seemed awkward... Highlight for spoiler: (I hated how Mary Jane stayed on the floor and just looked at him, outraged, after Peter hit her. GET UP, WOMAN! Don't act like such a victim. I know it hurt, but man, get up and hit him back or something. Jeez!)
When: May 10 & 16, 2007 How: on DVD, in Yearbook
When: May 16, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: Very funny. Circumstances: This was Nona's and my celebratory yay APs are over movie. We took the AP Lang test (this was related to one of the essay questions, which was about advertising/propaganda) and after school went to Chris' house to watch this. After watching the movie, we banged on the drums, made noises with the guitars, and yeah.

When: May 28, 2007 How: on TV, on the Lifetime channel, hahaha
When: June 1, 2007 How: on TV, TCM on demand Comments: Am I alone in thinking that female characters in film just aren't as strong as they used to be in 1937 anymore? I like old movies.

When: June 30 & July 1 & ?, 2007 How: in theatres Circumstances: I first went to see it with Nona and Chris. We planned to go see this and then sneak into Evening. But in the middle of the movie, the fire alarm went off, we were ushered outside and given re-admit tickets, and they closed off the movie theatres for the day. The next day my sister, cousin, and I went to see Ocean's 13. Afterwards, we snuck into Ratatouille and saw the ending. But there's still a little piece of it that I haven't seen. Comments: Um, no matter how delicious a rat's cooking might be, it's still really disgusting to think about.
When: July 1, 2007 How: in theatres Comments: I was disappointed that the women from the previous movies (Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones) didn't appear. I hated the one prominent female role they had in this one (Ellen Barkin); she was annoying.

When: July 12, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: at Becca's
When: July 12, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: rented from Blockbuster, watched at Becca's, with Krissy
When: July 13, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: rented from Blockbuster, technically it was July 12 night, but it was after midnight, so Comments: I loved it. Becca kept saying it was a weird movie. I wanted her to shut up. It WAS weird, but I still loved it.
When: July 13, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: at Becca's, because this was the spring play in 8th grade and Krissy and Alyssa were in it Quote: Arvide Abernathy: And I never saw until now how much in love with him you are. Sarah Brown: I'll get over it. Arvide Abernathy: Why would anyone want to get over the one thing you hope for from the minute you're born and remember until the day you die? Sarah Brown: I'll get over it. Arvide Abernathy: Why? Because it's the greatest reward that woman or man can have on this earth? To love and to be loved?
When: July 14, 2007 How: in theatres Circumstances: at AMC, where Adriana works
When: July 15, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: at Adriana's
When: July 16, 2007 How: on DVD Comments: we agreed that it was an interesting story, but it went on and on and on Circumstances: rented from Blockbuster, watched at Krissy's Coincidence: A trailer for The Science of Sleep came on before this movie.
When: July 17 & ?, 2007 How: on DVD Circumstances: rented from Blockbuster, still at Krissy's, started it after midnight, she fell asleep (like she always does) before even the middle of the movie, the movie froze about 3/4 in, I turned it off, didn't get to finish it Coincidence: A trailer for The Fountain came on before this movie. We picked two movies that had trailers of each other in them! That made me smile :) Realization: I think I really love how Michel Gondry takes care of split realities in his films.

When: August 9, 2007 How: in theatres Comments: It was annoying to hear Life as a House's score throughout the movie. And the same track! For at least three times! Insane. Don't do that. I kept replaying Life as a House scenes in my head. And why can't Catherine Zeta-Jones be British in her movies? Why does she have to attempt an American accent in each one when, uh, she doesn't sound convincing as an American?
