Jungkook was born when his father, the wealthy heir of a large electronics company, fell hopelessly in love with Jungkook's mother, a middle-class nurse. Despite their passion, his father ultimately chose his duties over love, and ultimately married a different woman in an arranged marriage, for the benefit of the company.

Thus, Jungkook grew up solely with his mother, although living in relative comfort due to the checks in the mail sent secretly by his wealthy father. Despite the support, he grew a deep hatred towards his dad, who he'd only see in the media or news; he is extremely close to his mom as result, and is highly protective of her.

In elementary and middle school, Jungkook was a timid boy; easily flustered and not having many close friends. It was not until he discovered swimming that he truly began to open up and develop. Setting records and making local headlines in his swim meets, Jungkook's confidence levels skyrocketed, although remnants of his shyness still surface from time to time. Receiving a swim scholarship to the top-tier Majime Academy, Jungkook hopes to graduate with honors, wanting to show his classmates and father that he doesn't need wealth or a prestigious last name to succeed.
