not a power necessarily but flashes into his dreams / are they ok dreams at first? doesnt realize he's having them at first and he doesn't get it he has small twinges of consciousness / eye squints flashing diamonds into the dreams

emotionally resonant with the person in the dream feels his heart growing - his perspective changing, things he didn't notice before .. and this one way stream of consciousness in his dreams doesn't necessarily mean he will

what if you could understand someone so truely and then that is taken away? maybe that link - its taken away, ripped away and he realizes how much he relied on it

and no matter how often he is reassured - it doesn't match that thing t that unquestionable bond that was founded on the thing before

but what then leads him to believe

is it an interstellar lover/some other being that he grows to love? like a paper lantern, his heart is lifting up "pou...."

and then two of the other students in his class (economics) have something to say to him they warn him but he doesn't know what they're talking about - feels good and right he forgets other things like eating starts to waste away... oh no destructive relationship he needs to heal [like cal from the first sweep book] one of those, friends that he is introduced after a while becomes closer and closer
