it was a lucky thing they didn't get seriously hurt in that jump. they were already pretty injured, but the flowerbed had broken the fall. they had met flowey, and was unfortunately tricked by him. at first. after toriel intervened, she patched them up from their wounds. they finally healed after a day or two! and, thankfully, they were right: monsters were actually kind. but they couldn't stay. after they spoke to toriel about the barrier and the war between the monsters and the humans, they could do nothing but think about how they needed to help. their only plan was to make it to the king, by any means necessary. but toriel never mentioned that human SOULs were required to break the barrier. she only mentioned it was dangerous. was she trying to protect them? did she assume they wouldn't leave?

the kindness soul is a true pacifist at heart, they only avoided toriel's attacks and attempted every spare. but they weren't the best at dodging. they got just a tad injured, but they left the RUINs.

they tried to make their way to king asgore in hiding, trying to avoid some monsters. but some were unavoidable. still, there was no FIGHTing from the kindness SOUL. all they could do was talk and spare, dodge, try to come to an agreement. after all, they wanted to help. maybe that's why they were let go during battles, maybe they thought this SOUL was sacrificing itself to the king.

they never met undyne. they did hear stories about her, from the skeleton who they so happily helped complete puzzles with. but they encountered a shortcut to hotland, where they met their inevitable death.

it was a shock at first, they didn't know they were being watched. but just as they tried to introduce themselves to the king, explain their reasons, they only felt a spear pierce through their abdomen before taking a breath.

it wasn't a while until they understood why.

but they still had faith in the monsters. the ones they met, they weren't like the king. they were kind.

they say that the reason the king was visiting hotland was to keep an eye on the experiments being run by the scientists in that lab. they never went inside the lab, they think. they had heard of alphys, but they never met her. it was all a fuzzy memory.
