• ✦ bolded text: i've put a couple of my favourite series in bold, but i didn't want to do anything that would make it too cluttered, so we have my top 3 for super sentai, and my top 2 for kamen rider (because i haven't seen enough series to justify having a top 5 but struggle to choose between zero-one and saber lol). for magical girl anime, i just highlighted my top 5 favourite precure series to keep it simple!
• ✦ priority watch/read: my priority picks aren't always what i am going to check out next - they're more reflective of stuff i want to go out of my way to check out, think i'm really going to love when i get to it, or have had recommended to me by friends!! i'm always happy to accept more recommendations and there's a lot more i'm interested in than just what i've written here!
• ✦ partially complete: i included a partially complete section for magical girl anime because there's a lot of stuff that i'm not currently watching (and might not ever pick up again) that i didn't intentionally drop. i've been into magical girl stuff for a really long time, so the situation for a lot of these shows is that i watched them as a teenager (or younger) and got distracted. some of them i was caught up with, but never got around to watching the final series. some of them i got a good way through but then lost momentum. either way, i still wanted to log them, even if they're not complete, because a lot of them are just incredibly formative to me and a big part of why i like the genre so much
• ✦ dropped: i included a dropped section for magical girl anime namely because i do think it's important that people know i have checked a particular series out. however! just because i've dropped it doesn't mean i'm not willing to give it a second chance (or third or fourth chance in the case of crystal lol). the stuff that i've dropped out of genuine hatred for the media i decided not to record here. it's not worth it or been a meaningful part of my journey.
