As I drove through town today, I went along a street with many apartment complexes and residential areas on either side. In every building and every house I could see a life with you. Each with their own unique touches, like different breeds of dogs and cats as our companions. Some had no dogs or cats at all, and some had only one species or pet. Despite their variety, they were all happy lives. I cherished them, and still do, and they softened my vision and glazed my eyes with a blissful filter as love so often does. They were each only an instant and dispersed like mist as the homes passed out of sight of my window. But they nestled themselves comfortably into the nooks of my mind, where they live safely, and thus far eternally, providing a cozy, hopeful getaway that is also a vision for the future.
