• tools?

99% of what i draw is from my ipad. i use an ipad pro with an apple pencil, but prior to january 2017, i used my old ipad and my finger, rather than a stylus. however, i also own a wacom intuos pro small tablet that i've had for a few years now, that i will use occasionally (those doodles usually remain un-posted though lol).

• time frame?

i usually draw humanoid figures, so drawing one fully colored figure (with clean lineart) usually takes me around 3 hours. drawing a fully colored character ref sheet (with clean lineart), or image with two or three figures, takes me around 5~6 hours. i consider anything under 2 hours a "doodle" (just by my standards, knowing how long a piece usually takes me).

• inspiration?

i take a lot of inspiration from whatever manga i'm currently into, which happens to be jojo and one-punch man at the moment (including a bit of golden kamuy, ngl). action-themed manga like such helps a lot with practicing and studying different dynamic poses. i also like to look at 80s versace ads, as well for pose references! i also find that listening to chill instrumentals as background noise helps me stay focused.

here's some of the music i like to listen to:

• live lofi hip-hop radio - this plays really nice music uninterrupted 24/7!
• futurefunk electronic mix
• silent hill 2 ost - understandably, not really for everyone. it is a bit unsettling at some parts, but i just avoid listening to it in the dark and i'm fine lol. overall, i find it very... eerie, but also... soothing?
• axian - ok, this whole channel has some really good stuff imo. i've got several of the hour-long videos in my playlist, so they're all really nice!
• vaporwave mix - yeah i listen to vaporwave unironically, o well. this shit's really nice so eat my toes.
• shine on you crazy diamond - pink floyd is a good band to listen to when in a really chill mood, honestly. very relaxing, imo.
• the last of us ost - beautiful soundtrack. hands down, one of my favorites. i also recommend checking out the bioshock infinite ost as well.
