I've been consolidating my thoughts and I am now going to compile a list of both reasons why I should stay at home after the summer and reasons why I should come back to school.
Staying home:
- Money
- It is financially more practical to stay at home and go to a cheaper school than spend the money here on a university.
- I don't know my major
- I'm just wasting time AND money by staying here and taking "experimental" classes.
- I'm done with my Gen Eds
- There's nothing left to take without knowing my major...
- Kalamazoo sucks ass
- There's nothing to do here and public transportation is kind of shitty so it'd be hard to get a job and stuff without a dependable, reliable, consistent means of transportation.
- More options at home
- At home I'd be able to get myself around cause I know where things are. I could get a job and be able to work decent hours and I could get to school and back no problem.
Coming back to Western:
- Friends
- I've made great friends here and I would miss them.
- Western itself
- House
- I've kind of committed (unofficially) to a living situation for next year...
- Guilt
- I'd be letting down so many people if I left.
- It doesn't make sense...
- It's really unconventional and backwards to go from university to community college...
- I'd waste this whole year
- This year and all the money my parents have spent would be for nothing, really, if I didn't return.
