- backstory - Kaori grew up with her aunt, on her mother's side. When she was about 3 years old her mother went to live in Europe for the rest of her life and Kaori has never heard from her since; her dad went to America, she never knew why but when she was 11 she got news he was murdered; her older sisters were both killed in a plane crash on their way back from Germany when she was 5; her younger brother died at age 5 from a rare disease when she was 6. Her whole family besides her unmarried aunt were living or in Japan. Even though all this unfortunate events happened in her life, she never let it get to her and bring her everyday mood down. Kaori always made the best of things. The way she expressed her feelings was through writing lyrics. She would write in her lyric journal about everything and then compose some sort of music with the tone and, possibly, the topic she was feeling. She never let anyone read her journal until she ran into someone who she never knew would soon be singing her lyrics: Naoko Suzuki. The two girls met each other one morning at Starbucks. It was a Saturday and Kaori was out and about looking for musical inspiration. She came into Starbucks and got her usual coffee and sat down. The place was packed. So when a girl walked in everyone turned to her and began getting excited and tried asking for her autograph. Kaori never understood why, she had never seen that girl besides at school, so she just ignored her and focused on her writing. The girl who walked in sat opposite of Kaori, because there was no other seats. It was the other girl who started the conversation. Kaori soon learned that was Naoko and that she just produced her debut song. Naoko learned Kaori could keep her happy during her life and could write her music. The two clicked instantly. The two worked together for 4 months as the idol duo: DOUBLE. After a 4 month period, Naoko and Kaori met a guitarist named Ayaka Takahashi. (her story is on her backstory). The three of them became POiSON;;; The story behind the name of POiSON was all focused on Kaori. Naoko, Kaori and Ayaka had been creating lots of punk and rock music in the beginning. The first song they all sat down and wrote together was named Venomous Heart. It soon became the most listened to song in Japan. The idea that they call themselves was because Kaori sat down for hours on end thinking and contemplating name ideas and soon came to the conclusion they should have a name based on their first best selling song! They used the word Posion and Ayaka came up with capitalizing on lot P, O, S, and N.
