  • "Read or Die (R.O.D) 4 - Shutaro Yamada - 4/5 - The thrilling conclusion to the story of Yomiko Readman, aka "The Paper". Pretty neat stuff. 1/1
  • "On Writing" - Stephen King - 4/5 - Part auto-biography, part how-to, it's just as entertaining as his other writings. 1/3
  • "Twilight" - Stephanie Meyer - 2/5 - The twu wuv story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Ack. 1/5
  • "Go Ask Alice" - Anonymous - 3/5 - One girl's struggle with drugs. 1/5
  • "Persepolis 2: Story of a Return" - Marjane Satrapi - 4/5 - The continuing saga of her life. 1/7
  • "The Book of Dahlia" - Elisa Albert - 4/5 - A novel about a woman's struggle against a terminal illness. 1/10

  • "Passive-Aggressive Notes" - Kelly Miller - 4.5/5 - People letting out anger and frustration through carefully worded notes that are hilarious. 1/25
  • "Sex, Lies, and Online Dating" - Rachel Gibson - 4/5 - A mystery writer and an undercover detective get wrapped up in the search for a female serial killer called 'Breathless'. 2/17
  • "What to Say When You Talk to Yourself" - Dr. Shad Helmstetter - 4.25/5 - The principle is negative words are more consistently reinforced than positive ones, which is bad for people in general. 3/14
  • "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way" - Bruce Campbell - 4.25/5 - It's a B-movie in novel form, and with a lot of famous people in it. Very funny. 3/14
  • "The Survivors Club" - Ben Sherwood - 4/5 - Scientific study of the factors that work to determine who survives a life-or-death situation and who doesn't. 3/22
  • "Blood Test" - Jonathan Kellerman - 4/5 - Dr. Delaware tries to save the life of a little boy with cancer who vanished from the hospital. 3/28
  • "When the Bough Breaks" - Jonathan Kellerman - 4/5 - A young girl may be the only witness to a murder. 4/3
  • "The Mirror Effect" - Dr. Drew Pinsky - 4.5/5 - A look at narcissism, celebrity, and the adverse affects accepting this type of behavior have on our society. 4/4
  • "Oh My Goth" - Gena Showalter - 3.5/5 - A pair of enemies discover the grass isn't always greener on the other side. 4/5
  • "World War Z" - Max Brooks - 4.5/5 - A fascinating (albeit fictional) look at the world's first zombie war. Very realistic. 4/5
  • "Ask a Ninja Presents: the Ninja Handbook" - International Order of Ninjas - 4/5 - A look at ninja history, skills, and everything you wanted to know about being a ninja. 4/6
  • "Over the Edge" - Jonathan Kellerman - 4.5/5 - A former patient reaches out to Dr. Delaware before escaping a mental institution and being accused of murder. 4/17
  • "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" - Jane Austen & Seth Grahame-Smith - 4/5 - It's Pride & Prejudice, but with zombies. This isn't rocket science, but it is lulzy. 4/20
  • "A Diva's Guide to Selling Your Soul" - Kathleen O'Reilly - 4.25/5 Only after selling her soul to the devil does V get a conscience. Question is, what can she do? 4/24
  • "Confessions of a Prep School Mommy Handler" - Wade Rouse 4.25/5 - A PR guy for a prep school finds out his job is really being the bitch of the rich bitchy moms. Funny and really sad sometimes. 4/25
  • "Power Sleep" - James B Maas - 4/5 - A book about sleep, why you need it, how much you need, and what to do when you can't get enough. Educational, though even when I'm not sleep-deprived I fall asleep quickly. 4/26
  • "It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken: The Smart Girl's Breakup Buddy" - Greg Behrendt and Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt - 4/5 - So you've broken up. What do you do now? This book takes you through the process of what's right and what's wrong to do while recovering from a breakup. Plus, the stories are lulzy. 4/26
  • "Gang Leader for a Day" - Sudhir Venkatesh - 4.5/5 - A sociology grad student finds out about gang life by befriending people in the projects. Very intriguing. 4/27
  • "Burn Notice: The Fix" - Tod Goldberg - 4/5 - An additional story from the Burn Notice series. Not bad, but still better to watch than read. 5/3
  • "Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomaniacal Self-Centered Smart Ass Phase" - Jen Lancaster - 4.5/5 - The story describes her youth and how she got to the point you find her at in her first book. 5/13
  • "Burn Notice: End Game" - Tod Goldberg - 4/5 - Mike, Vi, and Sam help a yachtsman who's been fixing races save his family. 5/15
  • "The Zombie Survival Guide" - Max Brooks - 4.5/5 - A fascinating and highly useful guide to what to do when a zombie outbreak strikes near you. 5/17
  • "The School for Dangerous Girls" - Eliot Schrefer - 4/5 - The boarding school from hell awaits. 5/20
  • "Maneater" - Gigi Levangie Grazer - 4/5 - Clarissa decides who she's going to marry, now the question is getting him onboard. More complicated than the story first appears. 5/23

  • "The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts" - Jr., Tom Farley and Tanner Colby - 4.25/5 - A look at Chris Farley's life from beginning to end written from the experiences of those who knew him best. 6/13
  • "Mommywood" - Tori Spelling - 4/5 - Tori continues documenting her life with two kids and her attempts at normalcy. 6/21
  • "Gil's All-Fright Diner" - A Lee Martinez - 4/5 - A vampire and a werewolf try to fight the dark forces with a waitress. 6/27

  • "L.A. Candy" - Lauren Conrad - 4/5 - 4 girls find fame on a reality TV show, but no one can predict what will happen to them. 7/3

  • "Silent Partner" - Jonathan Kellerman - 4/5 - An ex-girlfriend of Dr. Delaware's returns with a ton of secrets. 7/14
  • "Belly Laughs" - Jenny McCarthy - 4.25/5 - A behind-the-scenes look at all the nasty things that happen when you're pregnant. It's really funny, though. 7/15
  • "Julie and Julia" - Julie Powell - 4.5/5 - A disgruntled temp tries to find meaning in her life by working her way through Julia child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and blogging about it. 7/24
  • "Pretty Little Liars: Book 1" - Sara Shepard - 3.5/5 - A young girl disappears, and years later it seems like she's back just in time to make her friends worry about their secrets. 7/26
  • "Roses are Red" - James Patterson - 4.25/5 - Alex Cross has to balance personal issues with 'the job' as he tracks down a psychopath known only as The Mastermind. 8/1
  • "I Saw You: Comics Inspired by Real-Life Missed Connections" - edited by Julia Wertz - 4/5 - Pretty self-explanatory, but entertaining. 8/13
  • "London Bridges" - James Patterson - 4.25/5 - Alex travels around the world to track down a psycho known as the Wolf and an old enemy The Weasel. 8/14
  • "A Dirty Job" - Christopher Moore - 4/5 - A man loses his wife during childbirth and has to fight off demons. 8/16
  • "Waiter Rant" - The Waiter - 4.5/5 - A hilarious look at what it's like to wait tables. A 'Kitchen Confidential' for the other half of the restaurant. 8/19
  • "Fade to Black: A Black CATs Novel" - Leslie Parrish - 4/5 - Cybercrime unit attempts to track down a murderer through his website of psychos. Romance ensues. 8/20
  • "How I Became a Famous Novelist" - Steve Hely - 4.25/5 - A satirical look at genres of literature and one man's quest to write a novel JUST to show up an ex at her wedding. 8/22
  • "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" - Mary Roach - 4/5 - What happens to bodies after death. Fascinating. 8/23
  • "I Am Not a Cop" - Richard Belzer - 4/5 - The actor finds himself involved in a real life mystery. 8/29
  • "Level 26: Dark Origins" - Anthony Zuiker - 5/5 - A special unit tracks down a super serial killer. Could not put this book down, though at times I desperately wanted to. 9/12
  • Invisible Prey - John Sandford - 3.5/5 - Is an accident really an accident and if it's murder, what are they hiding? 9/17
  • "Confessions of a Video Vixen" - Karinne Steffans - 4/5 - One girl's journey from a difficult childhood and adulthood in the world of hip-hop. 9/22
  • "I'm Proud of You: Life Lessons From My Friend Fred Rogers" - Tim Madigan - 4.5/5 One reporter's tale of a beautiful friendship with Fred Rogers and what he gained from the experience. 9/22
  • "Alphas" - Lisi Harrison - 3.5/5 - An academy where the best of the best among teenage girls compete for one spot and all the perks that come with it. 9/25
  • "Beat the Reaper" - Josh Bazell - 4.5/5 - A doctor tries to keep his patient alive while telling the tale of how he got where he was. House meets the Sopranos. 9/30
  • "Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life" - Neil Strauss - 5/5 - A fascinating look at how to prepare yourself against disaster as well as one man's journey from wuss to survivalist. 10/2
  • "Storm Front: Dresden Files, Book 1" - Jim Butcher - 4/5 - A consultant for the police deptartment as well as a freelancer, he gets called in for cases involving magic. Reminds me a bit of early Anita Blake. 10/3
  • "Pitch Black: A Black CATs Novel" - Leslie Parrish - 4/5 - A serial killer uses scams to draw in his victims. Romance ensues. 10/16
  • "The Lost Symbol" - Dan Brown - 4.25/5 - Masonic lore in Washington DC. 10/19
  • "Winkie" - Clifford Chase - 3.5/5 - A teddy bear comes to life and is put on trial as a terrorist. Not as good as reviews would make you believe. 10/28
  • Tempted: a House of Night Novel" - P.C. and Kristin Cast - 4.25/5 - Zoey continues to deal with her guy troubles while fighting against Kalona and her friend keeping secrets. 10/28
  • Retail Hell - Freeman Hall - 4.5/5 - The story of a man's life behind the handbag counter. Snarky and fun. 10/30
  • If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor - Bruce Campbell - 4.75/5 - It was hilarious and a good look at life behind the scenes on a set. I love him more now, if that's possible. 11/29
  • Playground: A Childhood Lost Inside the Playboy Mansion - Jennifer Saginor - 4.5/5 - It's a pretty sad story, too, but well written. 12/12
  • Crash Course in Love - Steven Ward and JoAnn Ward - 4/5 - A how-to manual for finding someone and how to handle it once you've found him or her. 12/15
