In the world of personal website design, there are n00bs. These are the mistakes I see in daily browsing of personal websites.

- whitespace abuse
- lack of padding
- lack of margins
- mis-aligned content in Firefox/Chrome
- content resolution greater than 1024x768
- scrollbar abuse
- iFrames in Div areas
- scrolling within divs
- format
- CuteNews
- Blogspot
- Webs
- Piczo
- content
- "coming soon"
- .JPG & .JPEG images
- bad quality graphics/resources
- page numbers as titles
- image previews for free layouts
- no visitor content
- design
- lack of color scheme
- hard edged repeating backgrounds
- .JPG & .JPEG images
- myspace poop
- glitter/blinking backgrounds
- glitter/blinking titles or headers
- widgets
- automated music
- serif x sans-serif
- different layouts for every page
- dotted/dashed borders or separaters
- css
- non-creative, boring css
- non-fixed background
- image links with [blue/dotted/any] borders
- links/hovers that distort surrounding space
- horrid typography
- serif & sans-serif mixed and mingled
- Times New Roman used incorrectly
- Comic Sans used [at all]
Sure, these are just my pet peeves, but I'm sure most web designers would agree with me on most of these things.
Alas, I do not discriminate against newborn designers; Number 1: becuase it's the personal web realm, and Number 2: these young birds have yet to take flight in the industry.
